Birchfall lay down in the nursery, bored from being here again. She had to get used to it, after the kits were born she would still have to stay in the nursery until her kits were apprentices. She set her head on her paws, uncomfortable from her bulging belly. She looked at the entrance to the nursery and saw her mate, Robinfeather. Birchfall looked around the nursery, lonely. Iceeyes just recently moved out of the den back into the Warriors den, because Silverpaw and Amberpaw were just turned into Apprentices. Lavenderheart also just moved out of the den, having her kits Blackpaw and Brightpaw turned into Apprentices as well. She sighed and closed her eyes.
Robinfeather looked over at Birchfall and smiled. He padded over to the fresh-kill pile, hoping to bring it to his mate. He heard yowling from the nursery and dropped the robin he was going to bring. He rushed to the medicine den, only being whisked passed by Moonglow, the medcine cat, with Silverpaw close behind her. He followed them into the nursery, pacing back and forth until Moonglow turned to Robinfeather. "You have two healthy kits Robinfeather." Robinfeather sat down by his mate, and looked down at the two kits wriggling to their mothers belly. "What should we call them?" Birchfall looked down at the she-kit and Tom. "How about we call the she-kit Gingerkit?" Robinfeather purred and replied. "Perfect. I think we should call the Tom Oakkit." She nodded and smiled happily, then yawned. Moon song watched as Birchfall fell asleep curled around her new kits. "Come Silverpaw, we need to let Birchfall rest." Silverpaw nodded and followed her mentor into the medicine den. Robinfeather licked his mates ear and padded outside, realising the sun went down. He padded over to the fresh-kill pile and picked up the robin. He placed it next to Birchfall and curled up in the Warriors den.
