I walked into my apartment, holding my shopping bag in one and holding my son's hand in the other. he ran to his bedroom as I walked to the kitchen putting the bag on the counter.

I was a single parent, I had a boyfriend luckily but currently, my life went around my son, but I was happy with my life currently since my ex wasn't in my son's life anymore.

"Mom/ dad/ parent!" I heard my son shout, I rushed to his room to see him holding his hamster in his hands, looking asleep.
"what's wrong sweetie?" I panted looking at my son's pouting

"hamster, dead," he said lifting it,
"aww okay, we can bury him," I said "Alex is coming over today so you can talk to him"
I took the hamster from his hands and placed it in an empty shoebox.

I was walking to the garden to bury it I checked my phone since my son, Tyler, was in his room. Alex had texted me.

Alex ❤️: I'm coming over later, still okay?

y/n: yeah just Tyler is sad

Alex❤️: why? what happened?

y/n: hamster, dead

Alex❤️: poor Tyler, ill get him a new one

y/n: you don't have to but I'll see you

when Alex arrived, you saw him wave you to the car, "what's up Alex?" I asked running to his car
"I got Tyler a new hamster," he said lifting the small box
"okay you didn't have to but thank you." I smiled, we walked into the house and I said
"Tyler! Alex got you a gift" I smiled as he walked to the kitchen see you holding the box

"what is it?" he asked, walking up to you.
"Alex got you a new hamster," you said opening the box.
he smiled, jumping up and down running up to Alex, hugging him

"thank you! thank you!" he shouted hugging Alex tightly, he grabbed the box with the hamster inside,
"want me to help you set it up?" Alex said watching him.

"yes please," Tyler said, Alex, following him upstairs.

when they came downstairs, Tyler was behind Alex, smiling at him.
"you okay?" I smiled, watching them
"yep, I'll just go grab something from the car," Alex said running to his car.
"Alex is my favourite boyfriend you've had" Tyler smiled, looking at you.

"yeah i like him too"
