I stood in the airport, leaning against my suitcase.
the small buzzing coming from my phone every few seconds to a call coming from Alex, my husband.
I picked up and placed the phone against my left ear.

"hey baby" I smiled tapping my fingers against my suitcase
"Hi sweetie, I'm in the car with Adeline and  Jaxson and we'll be there in about 10 minutes" you heard him say, the kids giggling in the background

"perfect, I'm in arrivals," I said grabbing the handle of my suitcase.
"Great, anything you want to say to mom/dad/ parent kids?" he responded
"me me!" you heard Adeline shout "I miss you!"
you giggled hearing the mumbles from her brother
"Stop covering your brothers month, see you soon baby"

he hung up and you walked to a seat, sitting down at a coffee shop and scrolling through Instagram.
you were in a train of thought until you heard someone shout

"Mom/ dad/ parent!" you turned around to see Adeline running at you and her younger brother hiding behind Alex.
"Hi sweetie," you said standing up and picking her up, smiling as Alex dragging Jaxson to you
"hi, mom/ dad/ parent" Jaxson smiled, holding the toy car against his mouth.

"hi honey," you said putting Adeline down and hugging Jaxson tightly,
you stood back up and smiled at Alex.
"hi baby" you smiled, hugging his neck and his arms wrapping around your waist
"hi sweetie" he mumbled, kissing your cheek.

you walked out of your bedroom after finishing unpacking just to see Alex holding Adeline against his chest, with her asleep, and Jaxson asleep in his lap.

"look at you" you giggles leaning over to look at him
"im trapped" he laughed quietly, stroking Adeline's hair.
"Want me to free you a bit?" you smiled, picking up Jaxson gently, resting him against your chest

"thank you" he yawned, carrying Adeline back to her room.
you followed taking Jaxson to the shared room with Adeline, laying him in his bed.

you quickly walked to the doorway after tucking Jaxson in watching quackity kissing Adeline forehead.
"favourite child clearly" you giggled watching him
"no" he smiled walking to Jaxson and kissing his forehead

you walked out of the room with him shutting the door behind him, you started walking back to your bedroom to feel him wrap his arms around your waist
"you're my favourite," he said kissing your neck, smiling against the skin.
"That sounds so weird but still" you smiled tilting your head back
"It did but I know you love me," he said holding your hands, kissing your neck again.
"yes i do"
