HOW DOES HE KNOW? I DON'T UNDERSTAND! Finiaroli screamed in her head for the tenth time as she paced the washroom, adjacent to her room, back and forth.

Bugig was sleeping in the next room and the room next to his was shared by Riverale and Oliandrin. But Fin couldn't sleep. She needed answers. It has been seven months since that incident and nobody, ever, said to her face that they know Pearl is not her daughter.

She carefully opened the washroom's door and her eyes instantly landed on Pearl's sleeping figure on the bed. This time even Pearl's face wasn't enough to bring tranquility to her disturbed mind. She tiptoed to the door and went outside. The corridors of the second floor of the academy were lit with soft white lights. She turned towards Bugig's door. She wanted to knock and yell. She wanted to ask him whether he told Oliandrin about her daughter.

Releasing a sigh she took small steps toward the next door where Oliandrin was probably sleeping. She raised her hand to knock but then stopped herself. She was battling with herself and clearly was losing. It's not right to disturb him. He might be fast asleep by now, she thought to herself.

The old Fin would have barged right into his room and would have demanded answers instantly, but the new Fin was growing soft, and at this particular moment Fin was hating her new self.

"I'm not in there," a deep voice spoke stoically and a yelp released from Fin and she quickly covered her mouth while turning around.

Oliandrin was sitting on the floor against the cold wall beside the water cooler and a small plant pot.

Fin calmed her heart down and took hesitant steps towards him. His eyes followed her like a predator calculating the moves of his prey. She grew warm yet nervous under his hard gaze. It was hard to tell what he was thinking, for his face was devoid of any emotion.

She gingerly slipped down on the floor and sat beside him, her head leaning back on the cold wall and it soothed her tensed nerves. She closed her eyes and so did Oliandrin.

They both sat in silence for a while. Their hands rested on their knees which were scooted up to their chest. Their heads were thrown back and their eyes were still closed.

"What gave it away?" She asked quietly.

Oli straightened his legs on the floor and folded his hands across his stomach.

"She doesn't look like you," he replied in his deep voice.

"We both know you are lying," she spoke.

A smile crept on his lips but he didn't open his eyes and he knew her eyes weren't open too.

"I go outside, Dixtril. I meet people. I know things."

"You aren't going to answer me, are you?" She asked and he could feel the smile in her voice.

"You are changing, Dixtril. Old Fin would have thrown a fit for not getting answers. She would have kicked me probably for knowing too much about her life," Oli spoke with his chest shaking lightly due to a silent laugh.

"You are changing too, Oliandrin. Old Oliandrin Wiziann wouldn't be awake at this time, and wouldn't be chatting with me out of all the people," she replied with a sassy tone.

Oli couldn't stifle his chuckle any longer as he opened his eyes and turned his body towards Fin.

Her face looked serene while a faint smile was playing on her lips. Oli couldn't think of one single girl whom he found this beautiful. Her tanned skin was glowing under the faint lights and her features stood out boldly. Her long hair was tied in a loose bun which made her look cute.
