Chapter 27- THANK-YOU KISS

"Nightmare is over. I hope now she'll tell us her backstory in detail," River spoke quietly which made Oli shake his head at his best friend's impatience. 

"Or we could simply ask the police-" River stopped quickly as he saw Oli glaring at him warningly. 

"Respect her privacy," Oli spoke in a flat tone.

"I was just kidding. Relax. Phew," River spoke after pretending to wipe off sweat from his forehead.

Fin was with Pearl at her home. Oli suggested taking a day off and just relaxing. Although three of Zart's men were posted at her house just in case.

Yiliak, Rybul, and their men were now in police custody while Johbin was at the hospital for his gun wound treatment.

The evening was wearing off when Oli got a text from Aric which said that he, Shayla, and others are going to pay a surprise visit to Fin and he can join if he wants. Obviously, he did want. The offer was too tempting to deny.

By the time he reached Fin's house, the rest of them were already there. He could hear the peals of laughter when he rang the doorbell. His insides wriggled with exhilaration as the door opened and Fin stood before him. The image of her hugging him from yesterday's night swam before his eyes and his heart grew warmer.

Thank god I ended up being an Equipper in your academy.

No matter how hard he tried, a cheeky smile somehow betrayed his control and crept on his lips as her voice echoed inside his head, which made Fin narrow her eyes at him.

"I know what you are thinking, Oliandrin. For the hundredth time, I hugged you because I was scared of them and thankful to you," Fin kept her hands on her hips as she spoke wearily.

"Oh, come on now. I think you have a crush on me," Oli spoke teasingly.

Another important thing to know. Since Johbin and Yiliak were caught, Oli became relaxed and he turned on his 'Tease Fin' mode, which, by the way, Fin found both annoying and heart-warming.

"I will crush you to death if you say this one more time, Mr. Wiziann," Fin spoke with a stern glare but deep down she knew he was right. It was a crush. Or maybe more than a crush or infatuation. She had started liking him. Hard. 

"Look who's here! The ultimate BOSS. The ultimate PLAN MASTER," Aric spoke merrily as Oli came to stand in the living room. Shayla, Respina, Trivil, and others gave a loud cheer and whistled.

"The way your brain works, big brother! I must say I am your fan now," Leslie spoke up.

Oli smiled as he asked, "Basil at home?"

"Yeah. Nattie, Gabrien, and Vibriona are with him. He's fine but a bit dizzy," Shayla said.

"Doctor told us that they used chloroform in an excessive amount so he'll feel dizzy but will be completely fine by tomorrow morning," Oli assured as he sat down on the orange bean bag.

"Let me get you guys some homemade smoothies," Fin spoke a few seconds later to which everyone nodded eagerly and Oli got up to follow her to the kitchen to which Aric and others gave him an amusing smile, and in return, they earned a middle finger from Oli.

Fin's kitchen was now repaired and new slabs were fixed. As soon as Oli grabbed a water bottle to quench his thirst, Fin briskly turned around and spoke, "I need to ask you something. It's important."

Oli took a swig of water and spoke smilingly, "It's important or not, I don't care. You can ask me anything you want."

Fin felt her cheeks going hot at Oli's sweet words. She cleared her throat before speaking up, "We didn't get the chance to talk last night because I fell asleep on my way back to the academy. And this morning too you send me home. I never got the chance to talk to you. Why didn't you tell me that other security guards were also coming with us? Why didn't you tell River, Trivil, and Gabrien?"
