Edward POV

I woke up in a giant house with a family surrounding me. I was confused since the last thing I remember was dying of the Spanish influenza. Suddenly, a memory flooded back into my head. It was the man who was standing infront of me biting my neck and making me a vampire. I now realized I was infront of my adoptive family. I remembered that I was renounced but I couldn't remember who I was renounced by. Carlisle told me that only two people in the world could remember things from their past life. I guess I was once of them. I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly as Carlisle gave me a warm smile. "Hello Edward. I see you remember us." "Yeah but some memories are splotchy. I can't remember who renounced me and some memories seem like they have a missing piece." "I think it's best that you don't know for now. Let me help you get situated." I nodded and followed him upstairs. I got myself situated and looked at the time. 11:30. I decided to talk to one of my siblings. I knocked on Alice's door and she let me in. I was confused when I saw another girl in the room.

Lilly POV

Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do. Sometimes that can be hard to accomplish especially when you have to do something to someone you care about. I knew in the moment it was the right thing to do. Of course I still loved him but like I said, I have to love him enough to let him go. It was best for both of us but the reason why isn't important right now.

I watched as Edward walked in. I froze and my body lost all color. I was trying so hard not to cry as the memories flooded into my head. My eyes started watering when I thought of when I renounced him. He screamed desperately for me. I slowly got up. "I'm going to go talk to Rose." Alice have me a sympathetic look and nodded. She always knew what would make people feel better. I walked into Rose's room and she ushered me over. I let tears stream down my face as I told her about everything and the night I renounced him. "You messes up your perfect life for him. Why didn't you make a compromise?" "Trust me I thought for hours. No solution can be found for something like that. I wouldn't have let him go if I didn't have to." Tears started streaming faster and faster. A knock cam on the door. "Come in." Ik walked Edward and I didn't know what to do. "Hi Rose." "Hey Edward. What's up?" She said squeezing my hand. "I'm just confused. A lot of my memories are splotchy like there's a missing person in them." Tears streamed down my face faster. "Oh um sorry to be rude. What's your name? I'm Edward." He said walking closer to me to shake my hand. I took it and introduced myself. "Lilly Warfel." He suddenly froze. Oh no. He let go of my hand shaking his head and started to walk away. Phew. "I'll just talk to you tomorrow Rose. Goodnight." "Night Edward." Said Rose.

Edward POV

The minute I shook her hand I knew. The love of my life was crying on Rose's bed and trying to avoid me. I suddenly felt the longing for her to be with me again. I didn't want to confuse her so I decided to play dumb and act like I didn't know who she was. I would get her back eventually but the real question is, why'd she do it in the first place?
