Roger stopped toward the corridor intersection, perching near the end. He spotted the doorway to the guard chamber, past the right corridor. Nothing was guarding the door, so it seemed to be clear.

He tip-toed across the corridor and pushed the door slightly open to peek through. He only saw weapon racks, curiesses on the walls below helmets, and a desk toward the back. Behind the desk, a dozen keys held on tiny hooks over the chair. Those must be the keys, but which one for Persephone's cell?

Roger entered the chamber and approached the keys. Each one looked the same. No number, no symbol, or anything that could help him identify which key was the correct one.

I guess I have to pick one by random. Roger grabbed one key off the center.

He stared at it closely. I hope this is the right one. If not, I just have to go back and pick another one.

"Hey, you!" A deep voice shouted, alerting Roger.

One guard stepped into the guard chamber, except he looked different. Taller with four arms, covered in black stone skin chiseling over his muscles. Two red eyes glowed within his Greek bronze helmet like flashlights, glaring at Roger. Could he be some kind of brute guard man?

The golem pointed his finger at the cop. "You are not allowed in here!"

From his back, the large guard pulled out two swords with his two upper arms on his upper torso. "Prepare for death!"

With a quick eye, Roger spotted a xiphos blade on a rack near him. He sprinted for it as the golem charged.

After he grabbed it, he blocked the golem's blades before they reached him. While pushing back, the golem swung his lower right fist into Roger's gut.

Roger spat out his breath and crushed it into the desk, breaking it across the floor. As he sat up among the splinters, the golem charged toward him.

Roger couldn't fight the guard inside the cramped chamber. With no cover to hide behind and the guard being stronger than a bull, Roger will not have a chance.

He picked up his sword with the key, then rolled, moving through the wide opening between the golem's legs. After that, Roger jumped onto his feet and ran through the door.

The guard will follow him, but he could still reach Persephone's cell on time. As a goddess, she should be capable of fighting her own guard. And hopefully, the key will work.

Back inside the prison cell corridor, Roger approached Persephone's cell and inserted the key into the lock. "Come on! Come on!"

The lock clicked and the door slowly opened. Roger sighed and stepped back, watching Persephone step out from her dark prison.

"Thank you!" The goddess wrapped her arms around him and hugged his head against her breasts.

She smelled sweet with mint, berries, and little soil, like a garden. And her body felt warm like sunshine, glowing inside her. Do all goddesses feel like the sun inside flesh?

Persephone stepped back and kissed his left cheek. "Come on! We must rescue my husband."

"Okay....." Roger smirked with red cheeks. Too bad she married Hades.

"Stop!"

To Roger's last luck, the golem guard marched into the hall and pointed his blade at Persephone. "You are not supposed to be out!"

The beautiful goddess narrowed her green eyes at the creature. "Have you forgotten who I am? My name is Persephone! The queen of the Underworld!"

The guard chuckled. "I don't care. Acrisius is the king of the Underworld now. You have no power here!"

"Oh really?" The goddess held up her fingers and wiggled them.

Green dust sprinkled forward from her enchanting fingertips. They flowed toward the guard like a cloud, covered in glittering sparkles.

"What the-"

The green dust touched the guard's skin, and long green vines grew around his body. He swung his swords to cut them, but they expanded quickly all over him.

"Noooooooo!" The guard fell to the floor as the vine tightened his arms and legs together.

After the vines completely wrapped him up, he appeared as a green mummy with flowers sprouting all over him. He rolled side to side, struggling to free himself.

Persephone laughed and rested her foot on the guard's chest. "I still have my power, fool! You better pray Hades will show you mercy after we finish Acrisius!"

Roger startled a bit. The goddess's sharp tone of voice made her sound more vicious than how she looked. If he was that guard, he would be pissing in his throng.

He cleared his throat. "Wow..... That.....was..... Amazing."

Persephone glanced toward him with a sweet smirk, revealing her perfectly white teeth. "Why thank you. I am the goddess of spring growth. It's my power to grow plants and use them for any usefulness I required."

Roger smiled. "I sssssee."

Persephone's eyes studied him. "You looked scared? Did I-"

"Oh no no no!" Roger shook his hands. "I never thought you would be..... Frightening."

Persephone giggled. "I'm sorry about that. My husband taught me to behave that way toward our minions. Nobody took me seriously here."

"Oh."

"Yeah....." Persephone removed her foot off the guard. "Come on! We have to free my husband!"

"Okay!" Roger followed her through the archway. Although she has a scary temper, she still looked appealing as a beautiful flower. Too bad Hades married her before Roger was born. In fact, she was way older than his grandmother!
