The passing weeks floated away in an ethereal waltz, and before my senses could fathom it, October unfurled its regal mantle, accompanied by the gentle percussion of raindrops serenading the castle's rooftops. Enthralled, I observed the aqueous jewels as they cascaded down the window panes, momentarily captivated by their graceful descent, until my focus returned to the task at hand - an essay on the intricate art of transfiguring humans. Three meticulous pages adorned with tales of perils and complexities. Sighing, I rose from my seat and embarked on a leisurely saunter amidst the labyrinthine shelves, guided by an unwavering reliance on sources beyond the realm of mere schoolbooks. Their descriptions, alas, proved woefully inadequate, lacking the eloquence and depth required to unravel the intricate steps of human transfiguration.

"Saliah, can I see your defense essay?" came a voice, accompanied by an exasperated eye-roll, prompting me to peer out from behind the ancient wooden shelf, the leather-bound tome on human transfiguration delicately clutched in my right hand.

„No, you will not pass your N.E.W.T.s by constantly copying my essays. Why do you not ask Hermione?," I retorted, an air of weariness permeating my words.

The red-haired boy, vexed by my response, settled into my vacated seat and commenced a furtive exploration of my satchel. Angrily, I hastened from behind the wooden sanctuary, swiftly reclaiming my belongings from the Gryffindor's unwelcome grasp. I detest the intrusion upon my possessions, but even more so, the inability to accept my refusal.

„Are you deaf? I did say no."

„Don't be foolish. I merely ask to copy knowledge taken from books."

With a disdainful sniff, I shook my head, knowing full well that he would never comprehend. I am not a compendium, dispensing information for the sake of completing his assignments.

"Then, I beseech you, open your book and commence your own endeavors," I quipped, my tone laced with theatricality.

Ron, in a fit of exasperation, raised his hands in a dramatic display and embarked upon another ill-fated attempt to delve into the ebony leather of my satchel. Yet, my palm met the back of his hand with a resounding "slap," prompting an indignant cry as he swiftly withdrew his arm. Annoyed, I swiftly gathered my partially completed essay, shouldered my bag, and hastened towards the exit, not forgetting to inform Madam Pince of my intention to borrow the book for the completion of my scholarly endeavors. Ron's audacity and ignorance had provoked a torrent of outrage within me, compelling me to ignore my intended path and collide with an approaching figure as I turned the corner into the adjacent corridor. Stumbling, my arms flailed in a futile attempt to avert the fall, but to no avail. With a resounding thud, I found myself sprawled upon the cold stone floor, cursing the misfortune of this wretched day.

„Can you not open your eyes!" I exclaimed, my anger seething.

Incensed, I collected my scattered belongings from the ground, perturbed by the encounter.

"I believe you would be wise to exercise caution, both in your path and in the manner of your discourse with certain individuals."

Slowly, I raised my head, and my worst suspicion materialized before me. A figure, clad in somber attire, peered down upon me with narrowed eyes. Paying no heed to my bag, I stood and brushed away a stray ebony strand that had escaped my braid, tucking it delicately behind my ear.
