Dream stared at the variety of flowers in front of him with a box of chocolates grasped in his hand. If the ring wasn't enough then this might be. He studied each bouquet making sure that the one that he picked would be perfect. Half of the options were off the table because of the colour schemes. The reds, pinks and yellows weren't possible choices. Dream wanted one that George would actually be able to see and appreciate. He passed through shelves of bouquets and arrangements yet they all had their faults. Some it was the colours while others were wilting or full of blemishes.

Then there it was hidden at the back of the shelf. A mixture of blues, whites and creams that blended into each other. Orchids, cornflowers and hydrangeas were all tied together with a blue ribbon. The bouquet was full of life. It smelled sweet and the pollen tickled Dream's nose. It was exactly what he was looking for.

Dream paced outside of George's apartment with the gifts in hand. For some reason he couldn't pluck up the courage to face George. It was unlike him. He knew he hadn't intentionally meant to hurt George but it still felt like he did something wrong.

George lay inside hating every ounce of his body. He had woken up hours ago and had struggled to get back to sleep so he was lying wide awake in bed. It was embarrassing how he expected someone to care about him. He made a fool of himself twice. If he had the choice he would have lied in bed for eternity slowly disappearing from reality.

Dream knocked at the door regretting his actions instantly. George didn't want to see him. If he quickly darted back into his own apartment he could get away with it like it never happened. George would blame it on some random person who probably knocked and ran. Technically that person would have been Dream but George wouldn't know that. No. Dream had to fix this whether he liked it or not.

George rolled his eyes at the sound of knocking. He had messaged the postman that he should leave any mail or parcels outside of the door. That way he wouldn't have to face them or get up earlier than he wanted.

The sounds of muttering and somebody shuffling to the door could be heard. Dream chuckled to himself. It slightly lightened the atmosphere for him. Of course George was complaining about getting out of his bed and moving about. Sleeping 24/7 was a key part of George's personality.

"Oh, it's you." George took one look at Dream and reached to slam the door in his face.

Dream was quick to react and stuck his foot in the door stopping it from closing. He cleared his throat nervously and spoke, "Look George we need to talk. I know I don't deserve you, you deserve the world but I have to explain everything. I promise you it's all a misunderstanding."

George winced at the words 'I promise' his heart softening. A promise was a promise. Even if the last promise that was made was broken. Although he didn't dare show his emotions to Dream. Right now he was in the position of power and the best thing he could do was keep it like that.

"Fine I guess. Come in," sighed George.

"I got you these," said Dream handing over the chocolates and flowers to him. He knew it wouldn't solve the problem but it would soften the blow at least. How could anyone resist a present.

George took the gifts his eyes flickering with excitement before he got a hold of himself and struggled to return to a stone cold state. He wouldn't be won over this easily. Even if the flowers were breath-taking and the hydrangeas were his favourite.

George placed himself on his living room floor with Dream sitting opposite him. He reached to open the box of chocolates but retracted his hand and reconsidered. It might be better if he were to eat them after. A mouthful of chocolate during a heartfelt conversation wasn't exactly optimal.
