Prologue: The Addamses

Upon surveying Hawkins, Indiana, one would never thing there was anything out of the ordinary happening in the small town. The local children went to school, their parents worked or were stay home parents, and it seemed as if no one ever came or left the town. It was the typical small town America, if it wasn't for the unspoken, mutually agreed upon effort to keep something a secret.

This secret just so happened to be a family. A family that had incidentally lived on the land that Hawkins occupied for generations. They were special, to put it one way, spooky to put it another. They were the Addamses and no one was quite sure how to deal with them. Despite not knowing really how to deal with the family, the locals knew that without the Addams family, Hawkins simply wouldn't be Hawkins.

They were the typical loving family. Mother Morticia, father Gomez, and their three children, Wednesday, Pugsley, and Pubert, made up the core of the family. However they weren't the only ones living in the big house deep in the forest. Morticia's mother and sister, Grandmama and Agatha, lived with them, as well as Gomez's brother Fester, and the family "servants" (although they would be loathe to truly call them so) Lurch and Thing, who just so happened to be a severed hand. Family legend is that Thing is all that's left of an unusually powerful Addams ancestor, but it's never been proven.

Wednesday Addams, the focus of our tale, was special, even when in comparison to her own family. She had a deep curiosity for the world and everything in it. It was an unspoken rule that the Addamses didn't connect with the Hawkins residents unless absolutely necessary, and well Wednesday just couldn't abide by that. Our tale begins with the story of a boy gone missing, a creature hungry for blood, and the effort of one girl to find him (and maybe domesticate one of the creatures if time will allow it.)
