Artemis' Sacrifce//s4

Kai

I was sitting on the other side of our bed with Artemis still asleep and IV in her arm with Kiri resting in my chest.

I soft and sweet moan let out from her. Kiri shot his head up and his ears pointed up.
I looked down at Artemis with her uneven pixie cut; her thick and poofy hair in her face.
More groans and moans let out and her face scrunched up in stress and fear.
Kiri barked and stood on the bed, his front paws in her stomach. 
"Artemis?" I sat up and shook her shoulders. "Artemis!"

"No!" She screamed herself  awake and sat up quickly, panting.
"Hey. Hey." I held her "Breathe."
She whimpered in fear and fell off the bed.
"Artemis?!" She slipped while she got up. She panted and pulled the IVs out then sprinting out of the room.

"Where are you going?" I chased her and lost sight of her until I heard a slam near the basement.

"Artemis?" I slowly went down the carpeted stairs.
I froze when I heard soft whimpers in fear behind the couch tucked in the furthest corner.
"Babe?" I used my strength and slowly pushed the furniture a few inches away.

She whimpered and her fluffed ears flopped with her knees snug to her chest.
"Do you remember who I am?"
Silence. Silence but with that look of fear and confusion in her eyes.

I sighed "It must've been when you sent out that massive wave." I said under my breath.

I began to hold my hand out when she flinched and curled up even tighter. "Hey, hey. it's okay. You're okay now. You're safe." I nodded sweetly.

Her knees slowly pulled down closer to the floor while she slowly reached her hand onto mine.
"That's it..." I whispered. I looked up into her eyes and she passed out before touching my hand.

"Woah!" I caught her in my arms. I rested my hand on the side of her neck. "You're burning up."
I groaned as I lifted her up and took her back to bed.

Ivan

"Her systems must be all over the place since a portion of her powers was literally sucked out of her body." Juniper said while her and I were at Kai and Artemis place.  Artemis laid on her side in bed just after I had but her IVs in. "But there's no way of officially knowing."

"You know before," Kai said after a moment of silence "there's documents of the third generation of Paladins had extreme reactions to even being in the same room as a crystal."
"What are you talking about?" I stood up.
"What if we just contact her with the crystal in some way?"

Artemis

A few months later...a crystal in my back and my powers getting even more deadly. Not to me but to the world. If we can't find a solution within the next few years the universe will be nothing but ashes and it will be my fault. The only way we can do it or what we can think of is killing me. My team refuses the offer but right now, it's our only choice.

"Commander Wright." I was touring cadets in the pilot area.
"Yes?" I answered to the soldier.
"Commander Kylevi wishes to meet you in the Elite Lounge."
"Could you continue with the cadets?"
"Yes, Commander." They nodded.

"Thank you." I smiled and walked off.
As I was walking down the hall I coughed up some blood into my palm and felt my body get weak.

Kai

I stood ahead of the furthest wall from the door. "Kai?" I heard Artemis's voice call out softly.  

Artemis

He rushed to me hugged me tightly with a soft cry. "Hey. What's going on?"
"I-I need to ask you something."
"Of course." I said.

He softly pulled back and looked down to his hands. I peered down and saw a ring held in his fingers. "Kai..." I shuddered and smiled softly.
"Just...I don't know what's going to happen to you." He sniffled.
"Don't think about that." I kissed his forehead  "But we should think about what type of wedding we're gonna have."

Kai

I chuckled when Artemis began to cough harshly with her hand over her mouth.
"Artemis?" I held my hand on her wrist. "Are you okay?" Her face scrunched up in pain when she fell to her knees with both of her hands supporting her.
She continued to cough when blood dripped form her mouth and nose.
"Artemis!" I freaked out.
She collapsed and fell to her side, unconscious.

Beth

"I can figure something out!" Juniper said while the whole team was gathered in Artemis's hospital room.
She looked so pale and weak.
"Relax Juniper." Harmonia tried to comfort her.
"No!" Juniper pushed her back and his her back on the door. "I can save Artemis. I can do it!"
"Juniper." Urania held her hands on Juniper's shoulders.
"There's nothing we can do."
