Once Matt got back from working out we decided to go walk along the Bow River and just enjoy each other's presence. Matt has been insanely busy since the Flames are trying to clinch a spot in the Playoffs. It's mid April and the snow is melting like crazy right now which means it's a nice temperature for a walk.As we walk along the trail running along the Bow River I drift into my thoughts about what the outcome of the Flames making it into the Playoffs like how far will they go, do they have enough drive to make it to lift the Stanley Cup? How will Matt react if they don't get to lift the Stanley cup? At that thought I shake my head and say to myself 'I shouldn't be thinking about things like that. I have to be positive for Matt, the Flames and myself. I leave my thoughts as Matt starts to speak.
"Only 3 more days until the end of the regular season, and hopefully by Wednesday night we'll have our answer."
I ponder on what I should say and decide to just go with the flow.
"You guys should be able to make it, I mean you guys only need 2 more points."
"Yeah hopefully we'll have enough juice to keep us going, we'll hopefully have plenty more games to pay after this.
"You guys will, I just know it." I say and I hug his right arm as we continue walking. There's a gentle breeze amongst us bringing the fresh air down from the mountains.
"Making any plans for summer?" Matt asks.
"I'm hoping to get some riding in at the Ranch and spend some time in the mountains. Maybe go down to Arizona with you at some point. Do you have any plans?" I ask.
"I was wondering if you'd come down to Arizona with me for a few weeks possibly." Matt says while scratching the back of his head.
"We can go after Canada Day and right before Fourth of July if that works? And I can go to the Ranch and the mountains when we get back around August if that works?" I say.
"That actually works great!" Matt says with a smile as we continue walking making our way back to the house.
Once we get back Matt heads off to shower as I head into the office to go place our Hello Fresh order having no desire to go out and grocery shop.
Once I'm done placing our order Matt walks into the office with a pair of dark red shorts and a dark blue shirt on and asks, "What are you thinking for supper?"
"We have one more bag from our last Hello Fresh order we can make, it's the Teriyaki Chicken Pasta. If that works for you?"
"That sounds delicious!" Matt says with a smile.
"Great, let's get to it!"
We head to the kitchen and I head for the fridge and pull the bag with fresh ingredients out of the drawer as Matt pulls out the cooking dishes and starts the oven.
"This is going to be so good! I can hardly wait!" I say with a smile beaming on my face.
Matt chuckles and says, "Neither can I!"
Once supper is prepped Matt places the chicken in the oven and the pasta in the pot.
35 minutes later...
"This tastes so good!" We both say in unison.
As we sat at the table just enjoying each other's presence and the delicious food.
Later on...
We decided to cuddle up on the couch and watch Chicago Fire.
After watching 3 episodes, snacks and a bathroom break we decided to get ready for bed.
"That was a intense episode!" Matt said.
"Right! Who knew that guy would be crazy enough to drive Brett and MacKey off the overpass like that! And how Casey reacted and said that's Brett's rig!" I said.
"I don't know why they can't see that they love each other!" Matt says,
"Well for some people it takes more then a simple conversation or interaction to get the connection across I guess." I say.
"Yeah maybe," Matt says.
We proceed up to the bedroom and I walk into the en-suite bathroom to take my makeup off, brush my hair and teeth. Once done I walk into the walk in closet and pull out some pyjama shorts and shirt.
Matt is already sitting on the bed in his sleepwear as I walk to my side of the bed and crawl in.
"Today was a good day!" I say,
"Yeah it was, it's nice to relax and just enjoy each other's company! What are you up to tomorrow?" Matt asks.
"I may start writing up my plans and ideas for the company I plan to form and talk to some people about it. You?" I ask.
"I'll be at the rink for for morning skate and practice then may just come back to relax until the game. Will you be able to make it?" He asks.
"I should, if not I'll just watch the game on the tv. If that's alright with you?" I ask.
"Yeah if you can't make it that's no big deal but I'll be happy if you can!" Matt says.
"Sounds good, I'll do my best to make it!" I say.
"What would you like for a postgame meal?" I ask.
"Surprise me!" Matt says.
"Sounds good!" I say with a smile on my face.
"Good night, love you!" I say, and kiss his cheek.
"Good night Beautiful, I love you too." Matt says.
We both lay down and slowly drift off to sleep.
