" Yes Maddie , I have prepared everything. He is going to be so happy today . Ok , then.... Yeah . Bye" Removing the sweat from my forehead , I headed towards the kitchen . It's 12 am now and I have to prepare for a grand dinner for tonight . What's so special ? It's Evan's birthday. But this one is going to be the special birthday , afterall I have the biggest surprise for him .
" Elle , the cake is already done . Now can I decorate it , please " this 6 year old bree is very excited for her uncle's birthday.
Strawberry cake . Every year I try to make something different for him . Bree and I decorate it with thin sliced strawberries and frosting on top. Bree's cheeks are covered with the icing sugar . Such an adorable child she is . I love her just like my own daughter.
After decorating the take , we silently go up towards my room. It's mostly dark with some small lights on. I see a movement ? Is he awake ?
" Lena is that you ? Why aren't you sleeping " hearing him groan I come near him and sit down on the bed . The lights turn on and now I can see him clearly. He doesn't look sleepy at all. Bree lights up the candle and bring it near him to blow .
" Happy birthday uncle . Look , elle and I made this cake for you . Now blow it and make a wish "
" It's my birthday today ? I don't even remember" this guy is so workaholic , he even forget his own birthday.
" It's not a new thing honey . Happy birthday" I kiss him and pinch his cheeks .
" Thankyou sweetheart . Come bree , let's blow the candles together" The three of us blow the candles and we take small pieces of cake to rub it on eachother's face .
Now it's time to show him the gift . I am nervous as well . I don't know how he is going to react.
" Evan , I am going to show you something ok ? Give me a minute"
I open my wardrobe and take out a box which is covered with gift wraper. He looks confused and smiles but still opens the gift . Looking at the his gift he seems shocked and takes out the items one by one. He analyses everything , specially the ultrasound report . He takes out another thing which is a small baby t-shirt and it has words written on it . " You are going to be a dad "
He looks up at me , first with a straight face .
" Is it true ? You are not pranking me right " I shake my head as a no and then I feel him embracing me . I feel something wet near my neck and immediately know he is crying out of happiness. We don't exchange any further words and sit in silence.
" Thankyou so much lena. Thankyou. I never thought of having a child . You being there for me was enough and completed me . But now that I am going to be a dad , I feel like our family is going to be complete. There will be a small replica of us running around our house . I am so happy . I can't describe it "
Hearing his words my eyes well up too. Even I didn't plan for this . Don't know how I ended up in this situation . Evan is everything to me , and now this child . I never expected my life to take such a turn . I am glad I took right decisions 4 years ago , I am happy with the choices I made before , at the end , I found my happiness , my family and my soulmate.
Evan's POV~
I couldn't belive . I just couldn't. Lena and I are going to have a child , which we made together. I never knew such a day will come , and now I am so excited to meet my child , just have to wait for a few months.
I absolutely love lena . I love her to death .
" I love you sweetheart. " I said caressing her belly. " I love you too Evan "
We were lost in our sweet moment when someone decides to break it.
" Yummy . I love this cake" looking at Bree, we laugh together. Even if she is not my own daughter , I love her like one . My two girls are my everything . I am going to love my child so much . Thinking about lena , my all troubles vanish away . She is a part of me , an important part . She is my better half , the one who holds my heart on her delicate hands .And from now on , I promise , to love her more than before.
