Chapter 4 The Investigation

As soon as we were done eating, we went to the same place that we saw bursting up in flames last night. We hopped in the trucks following each other like a convoy. We had reached the base, I could see nothing but rubble. Whatever they find was more powerful than anything we have on earth. And I know that because it wasn't a bomb it was a material or element and nothing on earth that is a material blows up a whole base. We started looking for clues to why it blew up. Everyone was scanning the ground for something to start investigating. I was looking all over the base but I couldn't find anything. Then I heard a voice saying: over here! We all ran over there to see what he was yelling about. He found scraps of the base but there was something unique about these scraps. They were granulated like the scraps were put into a giant food processor. Then I noticed something on my detector that it was picking up, it was limestone? I was confused, you find limestone deep underground not on the surface. And there was no limestone included in the construction of the base. So I had to assume that the limestone that was in the rubble crushed it making it almost into dust. But limestone doesn't just fall out of the sky? Now I was really confused. I had to go somewhere quiet to think this over. I jumped into one of the trucks to head back to HQ. I kept thinking to myself, what are the possibilities that a bunch of volcanic rock just falls out of the sky? Then I realized something, on the morning that the explosion happened, as we were making our way over to the base and I saw what looked like to be ruins. But the ruins weren't there any more. This was starting to raise my curiosity, so I drove back investigating on desert ruins in Arizona.
