Red Tails || Klance Mermaid Au

Chapter 1: Past Boundaries.

3rd POV:

Keith was swimming around his.."Room", Hell he couldn't even consider it that really, Its was all stones and kelp. You see Keith has been living around stones his entire life, ever since that war centuries ago, red tails had been banished to these caves, the Galran caves. Sadly Keith also didn't grow up with, lets say a present family- his father died from a terrible sickness that he's had for a while, and Keith didnt even know his mother...he was a baby last time he's seen her- she just disapered. Luckly though, Keith had his older brother Shiro. They were very close. basically the one person Keith could rely on in the world, they both grew up together and we're pretty much the only family they had, and speaking of Shiro, he swam into Keith's "room."

Keiths POV:

"Hey Keith, what are you doing in here..?" Shiro asked, a bit confused on why Keith was swimming all about

I jumped a little, I didn't notice Shiro came in. "Oh..Hey Shiro- I was just thinking about something." 

"Oh? What were you thinking about?" He swam closer to me, curious.

"About...how life might be beyond the caves, how beautiful it could look.." I said, and I was being dead honest too. I hated these caves.

"Keith, you know how dangerous it is, we arent wanted up there, and if we are found beyond the caves, we will be executed." Shiro said, and he was right.

"But Shiro, just imagine how beautiful it is up there, we could go together take a small peek and come back down there."

"No Keith, for your own safety, I forbid you from even trying to go up there. Its dangerous and i couldnt even live with myself if you we're to get found and executed." Shiro said, his voice was stern.

"..Ok. fine." I said, I didnt want to argue with him, but one way or another I was going to see what is was like up there, Shiro just didnt have to know that I was.

Lances POV

I layed on my bed, lost in thought. I was going to be the future king of Altea, very soon actually- and I still need a queen..or king to rule by my side, but another thing I thought about is going past the Seaweed gardens the borderline of the kingdom. No one was allowed to pass those gardens but the King and Queen, not even the prince or princess was allowed too. And speaking of princesses, my sister- Allura swam into my room

"Hello Lance!" She said with a large smile on her face

"Oh- H-Hey Allura." I said, returning the smile, though it wasnt as big as hers

"Is something wrong? You seem a bit out of it." Allura asked swimming closer to me, Her Blue tail Shimmering.

"Meh, I was just thinking."

"About what?" She asked,putting her index finger on her chin.

"Beyond the seaweed gardens, I know its forbidden for us to go but I alaways wondered..and what if we secretly sneaked out there, without anyone knowing." I asked, gping back into my sense of though before being snapped out of it by Allura responding.

"Lance, Even as you said- you know we're not allowed beyond that point. Its dangerous, especially with those Red tails being beyond their, in the filthy Galran caves." Allura said disgust forming on her face. ALOT of people in the kingdom hated the Red tailed merfolk for what they did that tragic day, all but me, it was harsh to blame every red tail. even today, when they had no control of what happned in the past, forced to live in those caves for stuff they had no part in.

"C'mon! It would be fun though, to see things we've never seen."

"No Lance. I will not go beyond those gardens and you shouldnt either, good day brother." And with that Allura swam out

I was going to do it. I would be fun, due to how boring this catsle is..

Keiths POV

This was my chance, Shiro went to go talk to Mr. Kolivan- He lived in the caves next door. There was a small opening I could swim out, and I did. I swam as fast as my Fins could take me. I went beyond the Caves and kept swimming, Until...

Lances POV:

I looked around, I lied to my father and told him I was just going to visit Hunk and Pidge when really I was going to sneak past the Seaweed gardens beyond the kingdoms boundaries...I swam out the castle And went to the Gardens. After a good 30 minute swim I finally made it there, Until I saw two guards patroling around the gardens. I had to swim away from them, so I did- Into the garden. I swam fast, Worried the guard might have seen or if not will see me, until.
