The school prince and his delinquent

Chapter 3

"Hayashi Shouyou?" A deep silvery voice comes from behind. Shouyou turned to found himself in front of the school prince.

"S-school prince?" he mumbled.

"What are you doing in such a dark place. It is not safe to be out at this hour," Okida Ren says with a raised eyebrow and folded arms looking questionably at him waiting for an answer not noticing the cat because of the dark.

"Please help me!" Shouyou cried out. "The mother cat is bleeding! We have to get to the vet fast. I can't hold the kittens so please carry them." Shouyou bowed.

Ren finally noticing the kittens and the bleeding cat nodded quickly. "Alright. Let's go."

Shouyou bit his nails nervously, his hands and legs shaking and eyes darting as the two waited for the veterinarian to come.

"Stop that," A slender with long thin fingers hand wrapped around his wrist stopping his hand from biting his nails. Shouyou had completely forgotten about the  School Prince who was way too close to his face. Shouyou stared at his face. Seeing him from so close, he was lost at words. Okida Ren was unfairly beautiful.

"Shou-Chan?" Ren called out when shouyou didn't answer.

Shouyou realizing he was staring quickly stared at another way. "Sorry for staring," he apologized. His face was as red as his hair.

"It's alright Shou-Chan. You can stare at my face as much as you want," Ren reassured the boy with a helpless smile.

"Huh?" Shouyou looked at Ren confused. Stare at his face all day? Well, he is sure he can spend his whole life staring at his angelic face but who says that? Whatever. But did he just called me, "Shou-chan?"

"I can call you that, right. In exchange, call me Ren-Senpai." Ren asked staring at him intently. "yes of course! School prince." How can he say no to THAT face?

"Ren senpai, Shou-chan," reminded Ren.

"R-Ren-Senpai," he stuttered.

"Good boy," Ren praised giving him a million-dollar smile and touching his hand to which he flinched.

He had completely forgotten about the kitten bite which was bleeding. Seeing shouyou flinch, Ren immediately looked down and found the bite mark of the kitten.

"Shou-Chan, You should have said that you are bleeding! We should go to the nurse." Ten stood up urgently gently holding Shouyou wrist.

"It's alright Ren-Senpai. It's a small wound. No need to worry about it, " Shouyou reassured the older boy which didn't work. Ren grew more worried at hearing the boy dismissing his injury so easily.

"As your senpai, it's my job to ensure your safety," Ren said, still firmly holding Shouyou wrist.

Shouyou wanted to refuse but seeing how worried Ren was, he gives in to his pleading. Ren immediately headed to the nurse with Shouyou and under watchful eyes, the nurse finished wrapping the bandage.

"Do you want me to change the other bandages?" She asked as she eyed the bandages. Shouyou immediately pulled away.

"No! It's fine. I will change it myself at home, " he quickly answered.

The nurse nodded reluctantly and left the room. They quickly sit in their seats and waited for the doctor.

"Who were the boys who brought the bleeding cat and 2 kittens?" the veterinarian comes out of the room asking.

The 2 boys immediately stood up. "We brought the cats," Ren says as they walked towards the veterinarian.

The veterinarian led them inside and gestured them to sit on the pair of the chair directly across him.

"First, I should thank you that you brought the cats. Many people just ignore them which most of the time led them to bleed out on the road. It's good to see our country's children are growing up with good education and morale,"  the doctor praised giving them a proud smile. "Secondly, The cats and kittens, all three are safe. I will call the closet shelter to take them in when they are physically fine."

Shouyou could feel himself tear up. The cats were fine. His hands still shaking from the fear of the kittens losing their mother. A warm hand grabbed his hand. Shouyou looked questionably at the taller boy. "It's alright Shou-chan. It is late and it would be better to leave now." Shouyou looked outside the window and gasp at how late it was.

"Yes, we should go now," the two stood up and thanked the doctor.

"Are you sure you want to go alone? It's pretty late" Ren says worriedly.

"It's alright Ren-Senpai. I will be alright," he reassured.

"Alright then. Take care" Ren still unconvinced said.

"Good night, Ren-Senpai."

"Good night Shou-Chan."

What the hell happened today?  He met the school prince! Who helped get the cats to the vet. He was so close to him and smelled so good! It is crazy how much can happen in few hours!

He felt his face heat up just thinking of Ren. He didn't even treat him just because of the rumors and his bandages! The boy deserves to be the school prince and also of being the principal of the student council!

He sighs noticing his bandages crooked. Time to changes the bandages, huh? He stood up going to the bathroom where he kept his bandages and 2 bottles of sleeping pills. He wondered if he can sleep without the pills today?

He unwrapped the bandages and grimaced. He hated them but also they were the sign of his hardship but it didn't excuse his flawed skin. He with professional ease wrapped up his hand. He put the Band-Aid on his face before closing the box.

He laid on his bed and looked at the white ceiling. 2 years since he moved here. The rumors are still the same but he had faced those rumors almost all his life so he can deal with them.

Seeing that he was no closer to sleep, he pulled out the sleeping pill bottle from the drawer. He can't sleep without the medicine. Ugh, he's so pathetic!

As he swallowed the pills, he wondered what is Ren-Senpai doing right now. Is he also thinking about him right now? But he's not so special to occupy his mind. Ren-Senpai deserves so much better than him. He falls asleep with these scattered thoughts unable to wake until tomorrow morning.
