As I sit back to reflect on this entire small experience, I just remember having fun. Although it was loads of fun, it was also challenging in some aspects. For starters, I don't normally write stories this short, and trying to keep it compact was harder than I thought. I'm normally used to writing novels, so this was quite the experience for me. However, I'm happy that I chose to jump into this type of story for a break where I didn't set any expectations for myself, I just wrote.
This concept came about from a conversation with an amazing friend. You know who you are. Then the concept took flight to areas I didn't think possible. I had no idea I'd dive into magical realism territory, but here we are.
While I know this story is simple and not as nuanced as I would like it to be, it was the break I needed. It was lighthearted, full of heart, and exciting for me!
Gotta thank my friend for inspiring that first two percent of the story, of course! Although you wish it could be more realistic to our conversation, this concept went places I had no control over. I know you think there are a lot more details relating to our conversations in here, but I'm sorry it didn't turn out like that! The story that demanded to be written was merely based on the concept, and I had lots of fun bringing it to life.
