Chapter 21

Lizzie was three weeks old and was as healthy as an ox.Carly is fully recovered and couldn't be more in love with her little family. Danny was so helpful and Reba stayed for a while. Carly loved having her mom around.

Reba was making Carly dinner while Carly was playing with Lizzie at the counter. "I can't believe how big she has gotten." Carly cooed. "She keeps getting more and more beautiful everyday." Reba smiled. "That's very true." She smiled.Carly was making funny faces at Lizzie, Lizzie smiled. "hi princess." Carly cooed,Lizzie kept smiling. "I love you." Danny said sneaking up on Carly. She jumped a little "I love you too." She smiled. Danny wrapped his arms around Carly's waist and looked down at his little girl. "Hi gorgeous." He said. Lizzie turned her gaze to him. She smiled when she realized it was her daddy. Danny smiled and picked her up. He kissed her cheek, She was so tiny. He was still afraid he would break her. Carly could tell he was scared "she won't break" she said as she kissed his cheek. He smiled and rested Lizzie on his shoulder. "Dinners almost ready" Reba said. "Thanks mama." Carly smiled. "Your welcome baby." She said. "So not that I want you to leave but don't you have to take care of the other half of your family?" Carly asked, Reba just glared at her. "I'm just wondering." Carly defended. "Do you want me to leave?" She asked. "No,no,no" Carly stood up. "You sure?" She asked. "Yes, you've been a huge help" Carly told her."Have I been to much of a help?" She wondered out loud, Carly smiled and kissed Reba's cheek. "We love you." Carly said. "I love y'all too" Reba told her. Carly hugged her. "I love you." Reba whispered him her ear. "I love you too Mama. She smiled. Reba kissed her cheek repeatedly, Carly smiled. "Carly!" Danny yelled from the living room. They walked in and Lizzie was fussy, he didn't know what to do. Carly stood there and laughed. "What's wrong baby girl." Carly said taking Lizzie.She was trying to put her fist in her mouth. "Your hungry huh?" She asked. "I'm gonna take her upstairs." Carly said. "Okay." Danny replied, Carly laid Lizzie on her shoulder and walked to the nursery, Reba follows Carly.

Carly walked into the nursery and grabbed a blanket. She sat down in the rocking chair and started feeding Lizzie. She put the blanket over her and started singing to her.Reba watched them through the door way. She smiled at them and leaned against the door frame."I'm so proud of you." Reba said softly, it was true, she was so proud of them. "Thanks Mama." Carly smiled, Reba nodded and walked over to Carly. "Hi." Carly says."Hi." Reba replied. "Do you want to have Daddy and Garrett over for dinner tonight? Carly asked. "I'd think they'd like that." Reba told her. "I do too." She smiled. "I'll call them." Reba said walking out,Carly nodded her head. Lizzie finished eating.

Reba walked back into the room and Carly started burping Lizzie. "What'd they say?" She asked her mom, "They are on there way over." She smiled. "Yay!" Carly squealed. "Garett always talks about you and Lizzie." She said. "That's so sweet." Carly cooed. "Why don't we have Garett sleep over here tonight, so you and daddy can spend some time together." Carly suggested. "Would you be able to take care of both of them?" Reba asked. "Of Course." She said proudly. "Aw Carly thank you." Reba replied. "It's the least we can do, you have helped us so much."She said. "It's no problem." Reba told her, the door bell rang. "That's them." Reba said. They heard Danny open the door. "Carly!" Garett yelled downstairs. "I'm in the nursery bud." She yelled, he ran up the stairs and into the nursery.

"Hi handsome!" Carly said. "Hi Carly!" He replied. "Hi Mama." He said seeing Reba. "Hey baby." She bent down and kissed his cheek."How's my lizard doing?" He asked. "What?" Carly asked. "That's my nickname for her, lizard." He smiled. Carly laughed and held her up gently for him to see, she was sleepy. "She a little tired." Carly said putting her in the crib. He nodded in understanding, Carly laid her down and followed them out.

"How would to have a sleepover with sissy tonight?" Carly asked him. "Really?" He asked excitedly. "Yep!" She answered. "Can I mom?!" He asked Reba. "Of course you can bud." She smiled. "Did you hear that Carly?!" He was so happy. "Yes I did!" She said excitedly, Garett smiled and hugged her.
