Chapter 24

Reba was laying in bed...surprising right? She was yet again reading a book and thinking about all the stuff she was going to do when she could walk.Her phone started ringing it was Carly.

"Hey!" Reba smiled. "Hi Mama how are you feeling?" She asked. "Bored out of my mind." Reba told her. "Want me to come over?" Carly asked,"Yes please!" Reba begged. "I'm on my way." She said. "Thank you!" Reba giggled."Tell Garret." She said. "He's already here, just surprise him" Reba told her. "Okay." She said.

"Garett!" Reba yelled. "Coming Mama." He replied. "Thank you!" She yelled back, he ran into her room. She smiled and patted the spot beside her. "Hi Mama." He said. "Hey baby" she cooed. "What's up?" He asked "I just got lonely." She fake pouted. "Oh." He laid next to her, she wrapped her arms around him and played with his hair. "How's he baby?" He asked, Reba smiled softly "They're good." "I want it to be a boy." He said "You do!" She giggled. "Yeah I want to wrestle him." He said "You wouldn't be able to wrestle with him for a few years." She told him. "I know." He said sadly. She kissed his head and rested her cheek on the spot she kissed. They heard the front door open. "Up here!" Reba yelled, Carly walked into the room. "Hey." Reba grinned."CARLY!" Garett said excitedly, he jumped off of Reba, accidentally hitting her stomach."OUCH!" Reba yelped rubbing her stomach."Sorry Mama." Garrett said. "It's okay." She winced. Garret jumped into Carly's arms, she caught him and kissed his cheek. "Hey Bud!" She hugged him tight, "Hi." He smiled. "Hi Baby." Reba said to Carly. "Hi mama." Carly replied, Reba hugged her and kisses her head.Carly sat beside Reba and Garett sat in Carly's lap. "Where's Lizzie?" Garett asked. "She's with Danny." Carly replied."How you feeling Mama?" She asked. "I'm sorry." She said."It's okay." She patted Carly's knee. "What do you want it to be?" Garett asked them. "Healthy." Reba told him. "Of course mama. but do you want it to be a boy or girl?" He asked. "I don't care, I just want them to be healthy." She replied. "Carly what do you want it to be?" Reba asked. "A girl." She smiled. "Her and Lizzie would be so cute!" Carly cooed. "It'd be nice." Reba smiled.

"Wheres daddy?" Carly asked. "He's at Starstruck." Reba replied. "Oh, when is your next appointment?" Carly asked. "Next week." Reba said. "Can I go with you?" She asked. "I'll see." Reba replied. "Okay." She smiled. Reba stood up "You okay?" Carly asked. "Yea, I gotta pee." She laughed. "Oh." She giggled. Reba walked into the bathroom and returned a few minutes later "Carly can you come here for a second."

"Whats up?" She walked into the bathroom. She pointed to the toilet, there was a small amount of blood. "Garett call daddy and tell him to meet us in the hospital!" Carly said urgently. Reba looked at Carly scared "Tell him it's important." Reba added. Carly led Reba to the car and got Garett, Reba sat quietly in the passenger seat. "Garett did you call daddy?" Reba asked. He nodded, he didn't know what was going on, he didn't like to see his mom scared. Carly could tell that he was scared. She took her free hand and held his while driving. Reba crossed her arms over her stomach.

They drove to the hospital, Reba opened the door and got out. Carly parked next to Narvels car and Reba was already walking inside.

"Reba!" Narvel called after her. "Yea?" She kept walking. "Whats going on?" He asked concerned and held her hand. "I'm bleeding." She choked out. He hugged her tight and kissed her head. "We need to get inside." She told him, they all walked inside.

A nurse came up to them. "I'm pregnant and bleeding." Reba blurted out. "Right this way." The nurse led her to a small room. "You two stay out here." Narvel told Carly and Garett. They nodded and he rushed in the room. "Hold my hand." Reba was terrified. "Im right here baby." He said. She grabbed his hand and held it tight "I'm scared." "Me too darlin." He said. "I did everything I was supposed to." She cried."I know you did baby, the baby is going to be alright." He told her. "There wasn't much blood." She said. "How much?" He asked. "It could fill the palm of my hand." She answered.

"Hello Mrs. Blackstock." The doctor came in. "Hello." She shook his hand. "Whats the problem?" He asked. "I have down bleeding 'down there'." She told him. "Well let's take a look and make sure that the baby is okay." He said reassuringly. She nodded "What do I need to do?" She asked. "Just lay back." He said, she laid back on the bed and tightened her grip on Narvel's hand. "Can you lift your shirt up please?" The doctor asked, Reba nodded and slid her shirt up just below her breasts. He put the gel on her stomach and turned on the ultra sound machine. She waited with anticipation to hear the heart beat, but one didn't sound. Her heart stopped "Please tell me what's wrong." she begged. "They have arrhythmia, it's an abnormal heart beat." he announced. "Are they going to be okay?" She asked concerned. "It can be corrected, but that doesn't explain the bleeding, Im quite positive that it's pretty normal, if it wasn't a large amount?" He replied. "I was a very very small amount." She told him "How small?" He asked. "It could fit in the palm of my hand." She replied. "Do you have intercourse?" He asked "Uh not recently." She said. "These questions are personal, but necessary." He said. "I understand." She said. "I was just suggesting that you may have torn something." He said, Narvel turned bright red. "We haven't done it in a while." She said. "Just to let you know that it is safe, and you can take it easy and move around some, it'll do you good. The arrhythmia will be monitored and treated when the baby is born. I didn't see anything concerning on the ultrasound." He told her. "But I was told I had to be on strict bed rest because I'm high risk." She said confused."I don't see where that is necessary, as long as you don't lift anything over 10 pounds and of you feel tired or cramping, rest. And I wouldn't suggest going far from home." He said. "Thank you." She smiled. "You're welcome." He nodded. "You are free to go." He added. "Thank you." She shook his hand and he left the room. He kissed her head "see, nothing to worry about." Reba sighed in relief and hugged him. "Lizzie and Garett are probably worried sick right now. Do you want to record this moment for the video dairy?" She asked him, he nodded and handed her his phone.

"Hey darlin it's Mama and daddy." She started. Narvel kissed Reba's cheek "you gave us a big scare today.""We're at the hospital making sure everything is okay and It is. Your big sister Carly and big brother Garett are in the waiting room. We are so happy that your healthy." She said. "We were worried sick when mommy had a little bleeding, but it turned out to be nothing, which was a huge relief." He added. "We love you so much!" She smiled Narvel kissed Reba's cheek again and hit end. "Lets go home." She said.

He nodded and took her hand in his. They walked into the waiting area to get Carly and Garett.

"Hey guys." Reba said, they both jumped up."is the baby okay?" Garett asked concerned. She nodded "everything is fine." She hugged him. "Thank god." Carly said, Reba smiled and opened her out so Carly could join the hug. Carly joined in and Reba kissed her head and smiled. "Am I so glad they are okay." Carly said. "We all are." Narvel smiled. "Where's my granddaughter?" He added. "She's with Danny." Carly replied.

"She's getting so big I can't believe she is 4 months old already." Carly added."I know!" Reba smiled. 'I remember when I found out i was pregnant with her." She said. "You never told me that story." Reba said as she walked toward the parking lot. "Really?" She asked surprised, "Yes." Reba said."it took us almost a year to get pregnant. " She said. "You were trying? It didn't just happen?" Reba asked. "Yes we were trying, we wanted a baby so badly." She told her. Reba smiled "I know that feeling." "When I found out I was pregnant i cried." She said. "I did too." Reba told her. "I don't think I want anymore." She said. "Sometimes one is enough." Narvel joined in. "What's that suppose to me?" Reba asked. "Nothin." He replied. "Good." She smiled. He nodded and opened his car door for her. "Thank you." She said, "Welcome." He answered.

When they finally got home they walked into the house.Narvel sat on the couch and pulled Reba into his lap. She smiled and he wrapped his arms around her. Garett sits on Carlys lap, Carly laughed and tickled him. Garett was laughing uncontrollably.Both Reba and Narvel smiled at their kids, Reba looked down at Narvel.

"Hi beautiful." He smiled. "Hi." She said quietly. She kissed his cheek and he wrapped his arms around her waist. She leaned into him and he gently kissed her shoulder then traveled up her neck. Reba sighed in content and tilted her head. Carly smiled at her parents.

"I wanna show you something." Reba whispered to Narvel. "What's that?" He asked. "Come upstairs." She told him.He nodded and she led him upstairs.

Reba laid down on the bed and pulled up her shirt Narvel sat next to her. "See it?" She asked. "It's so little." He cooed. She smiled and nodded "three months." "I know!" He said as she laid her head in his lap."I love you." She said "I love you too." He replied,She fell asleep on his lap. He stared down at her and ran his fingers through her hair "I love you baby."
