I torment mortal boys...

"Where did I put my voodoo doll? Oh, here it is!" Tati screeched in triumph. "Now what did you just say? Repeat slowly."

The boy swallowed in fear for his life. "I wasn't planning on hurting her. I just... I jj... I-I," Tati looked up from her fiddling with the doll. Her eyes turned a darker more menacing shade of green. She smiled a bone-chilling smile.

"I'm unconvinced because you fell into my trap!" Then she swiftly took a scissor from the table in front of her and stabbed it fiercely into the chest of the doll. The boy screamed in pain until it died slowly into the hollow night. Tati then wiped the blood from her face and licked her fingers approvingly.

"So sweet."

"Where were you?" I asked Tati after stepping out of the bathroom.

"Nowhere in particular. Had to take care of some things. I thought you'd be ready by now?"

I checked the clock and it said 15 minutes to the hour. "Oh wow! I was in there that long?"

"Yes and your brother was coming to get you so I split before I assaulted him," she winked at me.

I laughed at this while walking towards my closet. Tati moved towards the door.

"I'll see you downstairs. Can't promise I'll keep my hands or feet to myself."

I just smiled and shook my head and got dressed.

The car pulled up the driveway humming into the night's air. The announcement of my date. I was so excited that I dashed to the door and peered through the peephole just to check if it was indeed him.

"He's here!" I squealed childishly.

"Be safe!" My sister called out from the kitchen. My brother had left for a bar with some friends right after dinner.

"I will," I answered calmly. Then I turned to Tati who was regarding me calmly. Too calm, if you asked me, because it looked as if she was staring at me, but when I got closer I saw that she was staring at the door. Waiting, it seemed.

"Are you okay, Tati?" I asked as I waved my hand in front of her face to get her full attention. She was tense and the only reason I picked that up was because her eyes would crease at the corners now and then. Just like that, she snapped out of it as the knock came on the door.

She turned to me with horror in her eyes and whispered something under her breath. I couldn't make it out, especially since I had walked away to answer the door. I smiled when I saw his face.

"You ready?" He asked with a charming smile.

"Quite," I replied happily. He took my hand and we exited the house. My smile dropped as I closed the door behind me and saw that Tati had disappeared once again. I couldn't help but wonder about the words she whispered. It sounded like 'Don't go', but I wasn't quite sure. The car rode off down the street while I started to worry about Tati and what she uttered.
