A few weeks later, as time progressed Sam was called back into the Avengers HQ for a meeting.

His daily routine remained the same before he was called in, he would wake up, force himself to make breakfast, accidentally make two plates, cry, watch whatever was on tv, cry some more, watch old videos of you two on his phone, ignore calls from the Avengers, cry, force himself to eat again, crawl into the cocoon of clothes and sleep. Starting back over the next day. He rarely shaved, showered or ate, his body was falling apart and he didn't necessarily care. He felt as if he really didn't have much to live for anymore.

Initially he didnt want to come, but Fury said he had a little surprise for everyone.

As he made his way into the main hall from the entrance, he saw a brand new pillar and made his way over curiously. The transparent gold and white column held a picture of you in your hero costume with the rest of the Avengers, the smile on your face just as bright as he remembered. The pillar holding your flourescent arm cuffs and your matching eye guard. The gold plaque on the front read:

"Y/N, the actual strongest avenger. Long live. Shine on."

He smiled to himself, touching the plaque with his fingers.

"The little warrior was the best. She will be remembered well." Thor said from behind him, coming up and putting a large hand on Sam's shoulder.

Sam hummed out as a response, unfortunately remembering the exact moment when he lost her.

"Come, Fury is waiting for us." Thor said, pushing his hair back and tapping on him, leading him down the hall. Sam quiet the entire walk to the room.

"Falcon, thanks for joining us. Please have a seat." Fury greeted. The room unnervingly quiet.

"I presume everyone has seen the new pillar in the main hall. I put it in myself." Fury said, putting his hands behind his back and lifting his head.

"It looks good. Y/N would enjoy it." Steve spoke, the rest of the Avengers affirming him.

"No. She would much rather enjoy being alive." Sam responded with a glare. He usually always agreed with Steve, only this time, nobody called it out. He was more volatile and his friends were scared to piss him off.

"Well, as you know, I've called you all here for a reason. Avengers, recieve your new mission outline with Hill." Fury said, pressing a few buttons on the keypad in front of him.

The rest of the Avengers quietly stood up, Fury turned to Sam.

"And Falcon, I expect you to be there too."

"No."

"Sam..." Wanda started, Widow softly nudging her to be quiet.

"No." Sam repeated staring down at his lap.

"You've had enough time to mourn. We need you back." Fury said, just as emotionless as ever.

"Y/N would want that." Tony said, trying to help.

"Don't tell me what she would want!" Sam bellowed, he stood and slammed his hands on the table. He turned to Director Fury, projecting his voice.

"You think putting some stupid pillar up is going to make anything better? She's not here and she's never coming back! Because of the 'Avengers'." He said, making air quotes sarcastically.

"If you guys are so interested in calling yourselves the damn Avengers, then avenge her! Bring her back to me..." the male said, a sharp sigh escaping his lips.

"Sam." Steve called out.

"But you can't." Sam said, staring at the ground, tears threatening to fall.
