The next day after our mid day meal we said goodbye and headed to Redcliff where we stayed for the night and boarded our ship the next morning with ten inquisition soldiers.
"Inquisitor what is our course to this land?"
I look to see a young elven inquisition soldier and sigh. This is going to have them think I'm crazy.
"We will sail straight south, no Southwest and no Southeast. We will then come upon a heavily snowed land now called Skyrim."
Their eyes go big and realization hits them.
"Sir, are we...are we going to..."
"No, that hasn't been our home for a long time."
"But what of the betrayed? Those of us who weren't able to escape and come here?"
"If they aren't dead then they most likely don't even remember who or what they are anymore."
I then turn away and head to my room on the ship and see Cassandra already there.
"We should be leaving in a few moments, hopefully this will be a peaceful trip."
"Ari if I may ask, where are we going that has cause of us being on a boat for a month?"
"We are heading to a land far south where it is almost constantly cold and the night proves dangerous. Its called Skyrim."
The boat then moved and we were off.
"You okay Varric, you look a little sea sick."
I look up from a game of wicked grace and see Varric looking quite green as he shoots Blackwall a dirty look. Blackwall just chuckles and turns to face the sea and breaths in deep just as Varric hurls into the ocean.
"Please tell me we are almost to this Skyrim because its gotten cold and-"
He then hurls back into the ocean again as Dorian laughs and Cassandra chuckles.
"We should be there in either later tonight or possibly tomorrow evening."
I state. Bull then tenses up and looks to the sky while Krem does the same.
"You guys good?"
"Do you smell that and feel the shift in the water?"
Bull asks and we shake our head no.
"There's going to be a storm, a terrible one."
"Shit, what do we do? We're in uncharted waters and don't know how they act in a storm."
Blackwall states.
"We could tie down everything and have everyone pile in the main cabin where we habe our meals. We then could cycle out with handling the sails instead of everyone rushing around, Bull how long do you believe we have until the storm hits?"
"Don't know maybe two or three hours but it will be dark in about an hour."
We then gather everyone and prepare for the storm that is to come.
The storm came and hit hard by the time we saw the outline of land thanks to the lightning storm. Bull and Krem stayed outside with a few others who knew how to handle the sails in a storm like this while the rest of us took shelter in the main cabin.
The others then followed by Bull and Krem come rushing in.
"THE STORM HAS GOTTEN TOO STRONG AND WE ARE TOO CLOSE TO SHORE, WERE GOING TO CRASH AND THERE'S NO STOPPING IT! EVERYONE HOLD ON AND STAY CLOSE TO THE DOOR!"
A few moments later we feel the boat hit and spin around to hit again and this time tear the back of the ship off a little bit to where water started pouring in. we then hit again and the whole back is torn off as the lightning lights the ship on fire.
I yell.
"MOVE IT WERE ON LAND AND NEED TO GET OFF THIS THING!"
Dorian tries to slow the fire down with the frost from his staff.
We all jump off the ship with Dorian being the last.
With the fire shining I take count and see that our men are accounted for and so are my friends.
"Is anyone injured from the jump or have any burns that need attending to?"
Blackwall asks and they tell him that their fine.
"We need to find shelter otherwise we are all going going to get sick."
"Indeed, but I would seem that I will be the only one to light our way."
"Not exactly Dorian, everyone in our clans and even the city elves are easily able to use magic, we just keep it a secret to keep our clans and families safe."
I then nod to the young elf that I learned was named Sage. He then lights a small ball of fire in his hands, then do the same.
The others are surprised but are too eager for the warmth of the fires we now have.
"Dorian take the back, Sage the middle please and I will take the front."
We all then form a line and being to walk in land.
