Jason's POV
I checked that nobody was in the building. I soon doused the whole place in gasoline and lit it up with a match. I ran out and relished the heat. The sight of the flames calmed me. I soon realized that somebody was trapped in there. I wanted to help but I was stuck in place. "What was happening?" I thought to myself. I saw a beautiful girl standing there and I couldn't help but feel a hole in my heart. I could tell she wouldn't make it, she looked at me, her eyes filled with...love? The building soon collapsed down on her, my heart burning with it.
I woke up with a start. What was happening? I realized it was just a dream, the same dream that I had experienced for a week now. I wondered if it meant anything. I quickly got rid of that thought, it was just a dream. In my 16 years of living though I had never experienced anything so strange though. Believe me though, I had seen some pretty strange things. Being an arsonist allowed you access to the world of crime and running away. I was 15 when I had run away from my home and had seen many things since then. For some reason, the only friend was my fire. It made me feel warm and comforted me. That's why I started burning down buildings. I always made sure the building was empty though and made sure the building was at least 10 minutes away from a fire house. I didn't want people getting hurt and I didn't want to go to jail. I got up out of bed and checked myself in the abandoned building's mirror. I had lived here for a while now and it was the only place I could call home. I checked my reflection, I sighed in relief. I still had the same black hair, green eyes and handsome face I had always had. I know I sounded arrogant there calling myself handsome but it was true. I always heard girls whispering about how handsome I was. Personally it annoyed me, I didn't like drawing attention to myself. I sighed and got ready to get my daily cup of coffee.
I was a nearby coffee house when a man started choking. I panicked, what if the cops came here and found looked out me and figured out I was an arsonist. I was so busy panicking that I didn't notice a girl who looked around my age ran to the man and started doing the Heimlich Maneuver on him. She looked at me and yelled, "Call 911!" I quickly got out my phone and called 911 like she asked. "911, what's your emergency?" the operator asked. "There is a man choking at the coffee shop on Sparrow Road," I answered. The operator replied, "Help is on the way." The line soon went dead. I looked back at the girl and saw her starting to do CPR on the man. A couple of minutes later sighed in relief and it looked like the man was breathing again. I went up to her and tapped her, "Excuse me, I called 911 like you asked. How did you know what to do? You just saved his life." She smiled back at me, "I volunteer at the hospital and I plan on becoming a doctor later on in my life. I'm Mystique by the way, you can call me Misty for short." I replied with a bigger smile, "I'm Jason, would you like a cup of coffee, it's on me. After all a hero like you deserves nothing but the best." She laughed, "I'm no hero but who can say no to a free cup of coffee. I think I'll take you up on that offer." I took a better look at her face. She was very pretty. She had beautiful auburn hair with blue eyes the color of the ocean. I couldn't help but feel a sense of recognition. The question is, where did I recognize her from?
