Gear Down

The doors to the medical wing of Beacon were kicked open as Isaac was wheeled into an operating room, still in his armor.
As Isaac arrived into the room, he coughed relentlessly into his helmet. The piece of equipment was swiftly removed, along with the rest of his equipment and set to the side of the room. Doctors and nurses with plastic suits and face shields rushed to and fro to keep the Gear stable while Isaac coughed up brownish red liquid to the side of the bed.
Velvet attempted to force her way in to comfort the Gear but was forced back into the waiting room by her friends with tears in her eyes.
It was 5 hours after Isaac had arrived and the teams of RWBY, JNPR, and CVFY waited for updates and discussed what happened in the mine.
"Was that a new kind of Grimm or something?"
Jaune speculated.
"I don't know. It didn't have any of the usual tell tale signs of the Grimm. Instead of melting away they blew up, they glowed yellow, they had external armor aside from the usual bone, the list goes on. They could be anything."
Blake counted off.
"I think I know."
Velvet finally spoke, her head had been low as Coco tried to comfort her teammate.
"It's a parasite from Isaac's home."
"There's no parasite on the face of Remnant that is that aggressive and able to take control of bodies and act like that."
Weiss argued.
"On Remnant."
Fox highlighted.
"You think this thing is an alien?"
Weiss scoffed.
"I don't know Weiss. This thing was very new. We may face the occasional new Grimm but nothing like what just happened today."
Ruby said.
"Wait. You said this was from Isaac's home right? Where is he from?"
Fox thought for a moment before answering and 'looked' at his team leader for permission.
"It's about time they found out anyway."
Coco said, giving her team permission to spill it.
"Found out about what?"
Nora asked.
"Isaac isn't exactly from this world."
Yatsuhashi said, finally spilling the beans.
"You must be joking."
Weiss said with a flat tone of disbelief.
"I'm afraid not Ms. Schnee."
Ozpin said, walking into the waiting area, with Glynda Goodwitch at his side.
"He is telling the truth, as much as I dislike the reality of the boy's past."
Nora gasped.
"Is he an alien in human disguise! Or maybe he's-"
"Nora. Not now please."
Ren said, silencing his hyper friend.
"Sorry."
"It still leaves the question of what proof there is of Isaac being from another world at all."
Yang thought.
"Quite the contrary Ms. Xiao Long. I've been digesting the information given to me by the young soldier that is currently in the ER. I'll cut to the chase and explain his situation and, by extension, the creatures that inhabited the mine."
Ozpin said as he sat down next to the Beacon trainees.
"Those creatures were called Lambent. They are a parasite in the form of a liquid called lmulsion. Isaac's people used it for fuel."
"Why on Remnant would they use a parasite for fuel?"
Blake wondered.
"Unfortunately they did not know it at the time. It was the equivalent of Remnant's Dust. They used it for almost every piece of large scale machinery. It was highly efficient. Sadly, due to the greed and foreign tension, a war broke out and was fought over the course of 79 years. Many of Isaac's own family was heavily involved in the conflict. The war didn't end until Isaac's faction acquired a super weapon capable of destroying entire cities with a push of the button. You know them as-"
"The COG?"
Ruby guessed.
"The acronym stands for the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Isaac's family has had a proud military history from what he has told us."
Glynda explained.
The students were horrified to say the least. First they find out that the things they fought in the cave were from a different world and was a parasite but also that their friend could be infected with the same parasite. Not to mention that he was apparently a soldier from a different world.
"So where does this virus part come into play?"
Jaune asked.
Ozpin sighed.
"After the war things started to heal and settle. However this peace was only a few weeks long until the Locust came. I'm curtain you know at least a small amount about them."
"They were Isaac's enemies right? An opposing faction?"
Ren guessed.
"Yes and much more. The Locust were creatures that originated from below the ground of his world. There are many variations of these Locust and they took a toll on the COG to the point where their humanity was on the brink of extinction on their world, despite the weapons they wielded."
Ozpin was cut short as a door to the ER was opened.
"Professor Ozpin?"
Ozpin turned to face the nurse.
"You're needed in the ER."
Ozpin nodded in response.
"I'm afraid I'll have to cut this short."
Ozpin was about to walk off before he was stopped by Velvet.
"Professor can I please come with you?"
"I'm sorry but-"
"Yes you can. Stay close."
Ozpin interrupted Glynda as Velvet gained a thankful smile before following the teachers to where Isaac was being treated and leaving CVFY to fill in the first year trainees of what they know about Isaac's war torn home.
