Peggy when she sees you come out of the office shaking hands of every general that thank you. You walk out with the shield and the suit Howard made you. You smile and she kisses you on the side of your face.
"You know Y/N, for a lovely woman of your kind-You're very special."
You laugh and hug Peggy. Howard comes in and looks at both of you with surprise. Peggy smiles and waves at him and he just sits there and smiles. He knew one day after all the chaos was over, the both of you would get together and celebrate. Not as friends, as partners in a relationship.
"So I was thinking," You started. " Since we're celebrating-"
You get down on your knees and open a shining case with a glimmering white ring. Peggy is forcing herself not to cry because she knows she's wanted this more than ever. She starts to cry and Howard smiles and hugs her.
"I wanted the both of us two be one-Margaret carter, the only love of my life, would you marry me?" You ask.
She jumps up and down and nods. You get up and lift her. Everyone comes out of each room after hearing the news that you and Peggy are engaged. You give her a kiss and together the both of you walk out with a whole crowd behind you cheering
