Chapter Ten

Polaroids

Tommy sighed, he finally finished cleaning the windows. A large cloth covered in dirt and grime laid untouched on the desk. The cabin was finally starting to look like a home now, the floors were seeped, windows clean. Every crevasse was touched by a broom or ragged cloth.

Dream often brought supplies, only yesterday he brought large fairy lights. Tommy thought it would be a good idea to string them across the celling as there wasn't much light.

Tommy sat lazily on the floor, exhausted from hours of cleaning. As soon as he sat down, a plank next to him lifted up slightly. "Huh-" Tommy began prying the plank open, until it eventually popped up from the floor revealing a small hole in the ground, containing a small plastic bag filled with trinkets.

He opened it, the smell of lemons filled his nostrils, many of the contents were still in pristine condition. There were too many polaroids to can't, all of them freezing a moment of time when a group of three people were together.

He examined the photo, there was a tall blonde haired boy at the front of the photo, who seemed to be bending over in stitches of laughter, behind him was a black haired boy, no more than 4 inches shorter than the blonde boy was ruffling the blonde boys hair, revealing two large pointed Teath while he smiled. Someone was at the very back of the photo, a brown haired boy, a large pair of white glasses laid on his fluffy hair, he was wearing a light blue puffy jacket, a red t-shirt tucked beneath it. He wore brown trousers with white sneakers, his legs were crossed and he was reading a book. Tommy noticed that he was sitting on the beanbag that lay untouched in the tree house. This boy wasn't laughing, he was rolling his eyes. The colours were slightly faded in the photo however, even Tommy could see light was pouting through the open window at the back of the tree house.

Tommy was too exhausted to look through the rest of the Polaroids, so he stuffed them beneath the bed and placed the plank back in the planks. He laid on his back in the bed, watching the led in the fairy lights dim.

"Oh really? Come on Sap-- I don't think your dad will kill you if you hang out with us for just an hour!" The tall, blonde boy pulled a silver key from beneath a mat next to the large cabin door. "Dude, seriously he got mad at me for leaving my game boy here yesterday I'm not taking anymore chances." The black haired boy sighed as the blonde boy opened the door, allowing them in with a bow. The brown haired boy spoke; "Well I'm freezing I swear the tree house is warmer." The brown haired boy raced towards the glimmering glass sliding door. As all three boys raced out the door, the black haired boy spoke once more "I guess it's closer to the soon" They began climbing the rickety planks nailed to the tree. "Well, I brought my new camera today" The blonde haired boy set down a brand new Polaroid camera on the desk. "Woah, Dream really? Well take a picture of something nice" The brown haired boy sat down lazily on the beanbag opening his book, he began to read silently as the other two boys argued over the camera. Eventually, the black haired boy gave up, shooting scornful looks at the blonde boy, named Dream. "Right well Sapnap we might as well take a photo to commemorate me getting this camera" Dream held up the camera, prepared to take a photo, when the black haired boy named Sapnap began ruffling Dreams hair. He began laughing happily, The brown haired boy name George, looked up noticing the chaos. He immediately rolled his eyes before turning back to his book. Dream accidently took a Polaroid, causing the room to light up in a flash of white. "There! Picture done I suppose." Dream smiled excitedly. He took out the blank white card and began fanning it wildly. The polaroid began appearing on the black screen the three of them were shown on it. Only Dream and Sapnap were smiling. George however, was giggling slightly while rolling his eyes. "We should collect them! Just wait till Punz and Karl get here" Sapnap exclaimed.
