Long ago, two races ruled over the Earth: Humans and Monsters. They lived, coincided peacefully with each other.

One day, war broke out between the two races.

After a long battle, the humans were victorious, and with the help of seven mages, they sealed all of the Monsters underground, which is now present day Mount Ebott. Their civilization flourished, now creating the Underground.

           Many years later:

"Legends say...those who climb the Mountain never return..." she said wistfully, looking up at the mountain from the book she held. She was finally out of the house. Out of that damn village. Away from the people who spited her for her personality. Away from those who cast her out, and all of the Hatred and Spite. Here...with the golden flowers that danced with the wind.

The lake water has never sounded so quiet, now the grass has ever felt this soft. It was a perfect day, a perfect spot, and a perfect pastime. And yet...it still didn't calm her.

She grit her teeth, laying on the fields as she looked up and contemplated life. She had just been kicked out of the house for a while again, and she had to avoid a couple of kids from pulling on her hair. At that thought, she twirled her locks, cut short, just past her neck so she would be harder to catch. Still, with her ruby red eyes, she could do nothing as they sneered at her for being a demon, as they called it. With that in mind, the prospect of going up and never returning seemed a little more inviting than it probably should have been. She picked at the petals of the flowers, trying to make herself calm. Flowers. Just flowers. Flowers don't scream at you. They don't spite you. They don't hurt you. All they do is grow...

Standing up, she sighed, looking towards Mount Ebott, feeling some sort of attraction towards it. It was almost as if it was calling her...beckoning her to come over. Shaking her head, she turned back and walked alone. Maybe she could test that another time.

As the human walked through the caves, the glyphs shined. Her brown eyes scanned them, and she read them quietly to herself.

" 'A long time ago...a HUMAN fell into the ruins.' "

She couldn't stop running. The footsteps were getting closer, and she couldn't stop. Multiple cuts bled from her body, as well as blood from when they pulled on her hair too hard. Without a family to turn to, she ran as fast as she could, to the place of no return. At this point? If she wouldn't return to this place? It would be a dream come true.

               "Get back here Demon!"

Growling at the threat, she resisted the urge to turn around and beat the shit out of him. Whether that was because she wanted to escape or because she knew she couldn't take three at a time was unknown. Pumping her legs as fast as she could run, she coursed up the mountain, finally getting through a little forest. The girl smiled to herself, and ran faster.

She would get away! She would be able to find a place to actually belong! And if her harassers believed the legends, they wouldn't DARE come up here! Finally, she would be fre-"EEEEEEEEEK!" Stumbling upon a root, she toppled over, head first. A sigh of relief was choked, as she realized that instead of a ground to fall on, a massive, gaping hole took its place. Her body fell down, the last thing she saw being the horrified faces of her oppressors.

The flowers of the village danced peacefully, an eerie silence in the wind as blew.
