•·.·'𖤍'·.·•With five entire hours of sleep in her system, Bella brutally swiped the alarm clock from her bedside table, only to get it to stop. She ran a hand through her hair, attempting to untagle it.
Still half asleep, Bella tugged on some decent clothes and her jacket, heading outside with a hot mug of coffee in her hands and a cigatette hanging from her mouth.
Bella was surprised to see Charles already outside, despite it being the crack of dawn. She pocketed the cigatette and joined him on the bench.
"You and Erik get along alright?"
Bella snorted in her coffee. How did he come to this conclusion? "No we don't, he's insufferable."
Charles chuckled in understanding.
"I can't read you" he said straight forward as ever. The agent furrowed her brows. He was psychic, was he not?
"Why?"
"I think you're blocking me. This is the first time this has happened. I do know one thing though." he paused, searching for a reaction in the hazel eyes "And after yesterday, I didn't want to scream it from the rooftops."
"I appreciate it." and she really did. Bella smacked her lips trying to adjust to this new situation. Charles would've found out sooner or later and she'd rather have him on her side than opposite. "Don't tell anyone, though. Especially Moira."
"Don't worry about that" he laughed, it was so genuine Bella's heart clenched.
After some time with chatter lazily swimming back and forth between them, they were expected to meet an agent. Bella pointed Charles in the right direction, but didn't follow after him.
She instead leaned against the wall, fishing out the battered cig, she frowned. So much for the small joys of life. She lit it, trying to salvage the unfortunate piece.
A couple of the passing agents gave her a pointed look but she just waved at them, cheery as ever, happy to find joy in annoying others this early in the morning. Just then, Erik rounded the corner, standing a few feet from her.
"Well well, if it isn't the file thief" she noted, puffing out the smoke in soft clouds. She waved the pack of cigarettes but Lehnsherr shook his head.
"I'm looking for Charles."
Bella couldn't help but notice that his tone was softer than the night before. She stepped on the cigarette butt and threw it in the bin, leading Lehnsherr through the corridors, to where Moira's partner and Charles were supposed to be.
