It was a day unlike any before it. The city was deafeningly silent although it was a Monday morning in the midst of a warm July morning.

The disappearances had started two months ago, during a stifling May day. Two adolescents had gone to the restroom and never returned.

The teachers, concerned about the fact that they might just be ditching class or skipping the rest of the school day, contacted the principal. In return, the principal contacted the sheriff's office.

During their search, the police who were called to check the school, found no trace of Amanda and John.

Rumors spread through the town like wildfire. One claim said they were murdered. One said they had eloped, skipping town and heading to Florida.

The claims were immediately debunked when numerous others began to vanish from the city.

The population was rapidly decreasing as a result. This was from both the disappearances and people leaving the area in hopes of avoiding the likeliness of being next.

They went from a population of ten thousand people in mid May to a population of six thousand people in July.

No matter how far and wide everyone searched, there was no hint of where people were vanishing to.

When more teenagers began vanishing from the city, parents searched in parties of twenty to fifty total people. Then they, too vanished.

They were on the beach when they disappeared.

This is the story of how they were found.
