The Year 2051

The world was different, too different to be even called home, there wasn't democracy, nor was there any kind of law made by humans left, the only thing left is rules made by the invaders.

The people have either turned into these creatures or kept their humanity and have a hard time surviving, but the humans who have turned didn't get any kind of special treatment either.

Those who have turned are treated as slaves, they can be killed by whoever, wherever and whenever, without consequences, I don't know what's worse, be one of them or just be human.

But, I was still human, still scared of knowing what would happen, the human race is either forced into Blood Factories or working in Blood Banks.

Those who had better-tasting blood are placed into Blood Factories, but those who have the best blood by these creatures standards are turned into these creatures personal Blood Bag, kept healthy, kept safe, even get to marry or whatever they call it with the creatures.

To these blood-sucking creatures, it wasn't wrong to marry the humans, but it doesn't mean these humans get any respect, they can be killed as easily as the people who turned without consequences, only except those who have the perfect quality blood.

But to those who are unfortunate with how their blood taste, they are sent to work at Palaces, they are slaves, maids, etc. These creatures have tortured people for the past 13 years.

I was still in hiding, even though they're strong and have a keen sense of smell, they can only differentiate the smell of blood from the smell of the environment, the human bodies natural smell was never detected by these creatures.

They can smell from as far as 50 steps, they had discipline, except when they turn rogue, they lose the ability to think, they are only driven by their hunger.

There were many vaults scattered across the entire world, it had its farms, research lab, man-powered generators and water filtration system, everything you need to be alive and even to stay sane.

The water wasn't a necessity for these vampires, it's only for them to bathe in. I am the overseer of the 100th Vault and have 239 lives in hand, I used to be a Mayor, so I held a great amount of power and had corruption here and there.

Right now I am sitting at my desk, one man standing right in front of me, Na Jaemin, the head of Security and a close friend.

"(Y/n), what should we do about these troublemakers?"

"Can you please give me their files?"

"Here," Jaemin, gave me three files, everything these troublemakers do and work.

As I opened the file, they were people who worked in the generator room, these rooms always have troublemakers who steal food, and it shortens my patience with them every time.

"Kick them out, have their significant other or children replace them, sack them in the night, try not to cause panic."

"Sure," He said, before leaving the room.

I sighed, these people are getting more and more tricky to control as years flew by. I have kicked out 163 people over the past 5 years.

I had a great relationship with more than half of the population here, so they can't and won't be fighting me anytime soon.

But, right now I am watching a video of Jaemin's crime that one of my spies sent me a few days ago, a coup d'état to overthrow me, it would start tomorrow night, the majority of people in this vault is against me.

I was boiling in anger before sadness flushed through my body, I knew this day would happen, but I didn't expect Jaemin to be the one leading it.

I stood up and got out of my office, I was walking through the hallway, the people stared at me, I arrived at my room.

I changed my clothes and went to bed, drifting to sleep, I woke up, took a bath and wore my overseer outfit, overseers never had a uniform, so the overseers themselves would have to create one themselves.

My overseer outfit was a green trench coat with a few medals and rank symbols, then a green dress pants and formal black shoes.

"If I am going to be thrown away, I'll enjoy my last minutes," I muttered, walking out of the room and into the hallway, receiving mischievous glares from the people around me.

I arrived at my office and sat down on my desk, Jaemin right in front of me.

"(Y/n), we should give the security personnel their needed weapons, so we can input discipline in the citizen's system."

"Jaemin....."

"Yes?"

"Start your coup d'état now, there's no need to make me wait longer."

Jaemin showed a shocked expression, "How did you know?"

"I have my ways," I took out a file, it contained all the codes in this vault.

"Jaemin, this is the code to everything in this vault, take it, take care of this vault and don't turn into another version of me."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why aren't you resisting? You always fought battles even though you knew you would lose."

"I lost you, my best friend, who used to be with me in all of my battles," looking at him in the eye, tears streaming down my face, I still kept my poker face.

"I lost my confidence, I'm only confident when I have my closest people with me," I finished.

"Come in!!" He shouted outside, two men busted through the door and pointed their rifles at me.

Jaemin's eyes streamed tears as he walked closer to my desk and took the files, "(Y/n), take all of your things and leave the vault yourself, this would be the last respect I give to you."

"Thank you," I smiled, standing up I walked out of the door, all of the people outside had a smirk, the two guards and Jaemin trailed behind me.

After an hour of packing up, I was pushed outside, guns aimed behind me, before I heard a mechanical thud, the doors were now closed.

"How am I going to survive.......?"
