School

The next Monday after the meet went by in a blur. Until 8th period, Mrs. Lumper. I was still kinda frazzled from how it went. If you must find out how it went, just continue reading. Ugh I'm just gonna go to practice with Megan.

"Ok," said Mrs. Lumper. "I am going to put a few problems on the board and you will solve them. You will not leave this classroom until they are finished. I will take them for a grade." She, then, started to write impossible problems on the board. Well, at least they were impossible to me. I sat there just staring at them while everyone else was hard at work solving them. Ok, I thought to myself. Maybe if you just write the problems and random answers, she will let you go. And that's exactly what I did. The end of class finally came and Mrs. Lumper cleared her throat. "As you all know, state tests are next week. And, unfortunately, that grade will have a huge impact on your final grade. If you don't pass with a C+, you will have summer school." Oh my gosh. She did NOT just say that. If I don't pass, I won't be good enough to be a senior next year. And most importantly, I won't be able to train for the Olympic Trials! The bell rang to signal the end of class. Mrs. Lumper called me back after everyone had left. " Mrs. O'Hara," she said. "I heard you made it to the Olympic Trials." "Um, yeah," I said. "Well, then, do I have the challenge for you." she said. "Since we are having finals next week, and you are going to the trials, I want to give you a challenge." "What kind of challenge are you talking about?" I asked. I was up for a challenge. "Well, let's just say this. If you make a B+ or more on the finals, I will let you skip summer school and train for the Trials." "Wow, that's great---" she cut me off. "Enh, enh, enh. I'm not done. I will also let you graduate early." My jaw practically fell to the floor. All right, I'm up to a challenge. Bring it on, Mrs. Lumper.
