Aunt May was in her room praying.
May: Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses... ...as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us...
Suddenly, the Green Goblin burst out of the wall on his glider.
May: Deliver us!
Green Goblin: Finish it! Finish it!
May: From evil!
At the hospital, Peter and the gang went to check on Aunt May.
Peter: Aunt May. Is she gonna be okay? What happened?
Nurse: Yes, she's going to be okay. Look, you're going to have to leave right now.
Blossom: What happened?
May: Those eyes! Those horrible yellow eyes!
Outside the room, they realized what had happened.
Yoshino: He knows who you are, Peter. He's got your aunt scared out of her wits.
Peter was in the room alone with the comatose Aunt May. He looked at the picture of him with Aunt May and Uncle Ben, and then held her hand.
Peter: I'm sorry.
The next morning...
Mary Jane: Will she be okay?
Lisa: She'll be alright. She's been sleeping for days.
Peter: Thanks for coming.
Mary Jane: Of course.
Garfield: And we haven't ate our thanksgiving dinner for this.
Peter: How are you? Are you okay about the other night?
Mary Jane: Yeah, I'm fine. I just felt bad about leaving Aunt May.
Simon: You talked to Harry?
Mary Jane: He called me. I haven't called him back. The fact is... I'm in love with somebody else.
Peter: You are?
Mary Jane: At least I think I am. It's not the time to talk about it.
Lori: No, no, go on. What's this guy's name? Will we remember it?
Lincoln: And here they go again with their love routine.
Mary Jane: You'll think I'm a stupid little girl with a crush.
Peter: Trust me.
Mary Jane: It's funny. He's saved my life twice, and I've never even seen his face.
Peter: Oh, him.
Mary Jane: You're laughing at me.
Peter: No, I understand. He is extremely cool.
Mary Jane: But do you think it's true, all the terrible things they say about him?
Peter: No, no, not Spider-Man, not a chance in the world. I know him a little bit. I'm sort of his unofficial photographer.
Mary Jane: Has he mentioned me?
Peter: Yeah.
Mary Jane: What'd he say?
Peter: I said... He asked me what I thought about you.
Mary Jane: And what did you say?
Peter: I said, "Spider-Man." I said, "The great thing about M. J... ...is... ...when you look in her eyes... ...and she's looking back in yours... ...everything feels... ...not quite normal. Because you feel... ...stronger... ...and weaker at the same time. You feel excited... ...and at the same time... ...terrified. The truth is, you don't know what you feel... ...except you know what kind of man you want to be. It's as if you've... ...reached the unreachable... ...and you weren't ready for it."
Mary Jane: You said that?
Peter: Well, something like that.
The two held hands for a moment until Harry showed up with flowers.
Peter: Hey.
Later at the mansion, Harry looked for his father when he heard odd noises.
Harry: Dad? Dad, is that you?
He saw his father up one floor.
Norman: What is it?
Harry: You're right about everything. She's in love with Peter.
Norman: Parker?
Harry: Yeah.
Norman: And how does he feel about her?
Harry: He's loved her since the 4th grade. He pretends like he doesn't, but there's no one Peter cares for more.
Norman: I'm so sorry. I haven't always been there for you, have I?
Harry: You're busy. You're an important man. I understand.
Norman: That's no excuse. I'm proud of you. I've lost sight of that somewhere. But I'll make it up to you, Harry. I'm going to rectify certain inequities.
He hugged his son to comfort him. Meanwhile, Peter woke up from his nightmare.
May: (awake) Wake up. Go home, dear. You look awful.
Peter: And you look beautiful. I don't like to leave you here.
May: But I'm safe here.
Peter: Can I do anything for you?
May: You do too much. College, a job, all this time with me. You're not Superman, you know. (sees Peter smile) A smile. Finally. Haven't seen one of those on your face since Mary Jane was here.
Peter: Hey, you were supposed to be asleep.
May: You know, you were about 6 years old when M.J. 's family moved in next door. When she got out of the car, and you saw her for the first time, you grabbed me and said, "Aunt May, aunt May, is that an angel?"
Peter: Gee, did I say that?
May: You sure did.
Peter: Well, Harry's in love with her. She's still his girl.
May: Isn't that up to her?
Peter: She doesn't really know who I am.
May: Because you won't let her. You're so mysterious all the time. Tell me, would it be so dangerous to let Mary Jane know how much you care? Everybody else knows.
Peter: We'll be right back.
They left the room and Peter dialed on the hospital phone.
Peter: (on the phone) Hey, M.J.
Voice Recording: (on phone) Hi. Sing your song at the beep.
Peter: (on the phone) M.J., it's Peter. You there? Hello? You there? I'm just calling to check up on you. Will you call me when you get in? All right, well... Don't... Don't go up any dark alleys. (message hangs up) Hello?
Green Goblin: (on phone) Can Spider-Man come out to play?
Peter: (on the phone) Where is she?
Mojo Jojo: (on the phone) Can I answer that, boss?
Green Goblin: (on the phone; to Mojo) Only if their new friends give us a little something. What is it called again? A mogwai?
Lincoln: (meekly) He knows Gizmo.
Gizmo shook in fear.
Lincoln: (gets on the phone) Listen, Gobby, he's our friend and responsibility, and if you ever so lay a finger on him...
Dr. Eggman: (on the phone) Alright, screw this. I ain't getting paid for this job anyhow. Meet us on the bridge by tonight with the mogwai or the girl gets it. She's still alive, so to speak. She's just 'hanging' out with us. (The villains laugh and hang up)
Luan: Hey! How come I didn't come up with that?!
The Gang: Quiet, Luan!
Somewhere in New York, Mary Jane noticed that she was on the Queensboro Bridge. The Green Goblin taunted while he, Mojo, and Eggman waited for Team Powerpuff and Spider-Man.
Green Goblin: The itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout. Down came the goblin and took the spider out.
He launched a missile at a small building, blowing it up. The heroes saw this.
Raphael: Goblin, what have you done?
The building that blew up broke a rope that was attached to a trolley full of children, causing the trolley to fall. The Goblin grabbed the rope as he prepared for Spider-Man's arrival. Our heroes sling-shot themselves to the bridge to confront the villains. The Goblin had Mary in his grasp.
Green Goblin: Spider-Man and Team Powerpuff! This is why only fools are heroes. Because you never know when some lunatic will come along with a sadistic choice: Let die the woman you love or suffer the little children.
Kids: Save us! Save us!
Lana: Oh, that is beyond evil!
Dr. Eggman: You gotta make a choice. See how you are rewarded.
Mojo Jojo: Just hand over the mogwai and we'll make it a bit easier for you losers.
Lori: If you think we're gonna give you Gizmo, you've literally got another thing coming!
Lincoln looked at the villains then at Gizmo then back to the villains.
Lincoln: Never. He's our friend, and friends stick out for each other.
Dr. Eggman: Bad move, Loud kid.
He got out a glass of water and threw some at the boy. Lincoln shielded Gizmo from the water, however, one droplet managed to get to Gizmo.
Lincoln: Not again. Not again!
The little mogwai squirmed in pain as his back began to pop out a little furball.
Lola: Mojo, what have you done?
The villains took hold of the furball.
Green Goblin: Do you really think we didn't hear the news about what happened at Kingston Falls?
Luan: Hey, that was a cakewalk compared to what's happening right now!
Green Goblin: Figured that woman in purple told me all about you kids.
Leni: Woman in purple?
Bubbles: Who's she?
Green Goblin: You'll meet her someday. Right now, I'm about to do something so drastic. (to Mojo and Eggman) You boys go on ahead. I think your work here is done.
Dr. Eggman: Looks like you Louds gave one thing to add to our plan for revenge.
Mojo Jojo: Good luck trying to take on our boss.
The two villains head off into the night.
Spider-Man: Don't do it, Goblin!
Green Goblin: We are who we choose to be. Now, choose!
He dropped both the trolley and Mary Jane at the same time.
Spider-Man: No!
He dived after Mary Jane, grabbed her, and swung to the trolley, where he attached it with his web.
Trolley Man: Everybody stay still!
A light shone on the trolley.
Ship Captain: Ahoy up there! We're gonna bring the barge right under you.
The Green Goblin was on his glider heading for our heroes.
Mary Jane: He's coming back!
Spider-Man: Listen. I need you to climb down.
Mary Jane: I can't.
Spider-Man: Yes, you can!
The web was about to break.
Spider-Man: M.J., you can do it. You have to. Trust me. Hold on tight and go quickly. Hurry!
Mary Jane climbed down, but was too scared to continue.
Mary Jane: I can't. I can't do it.
Spider-Man: Hang on, Mary Jane!
The villain knocked down Spider-Man, but the hero grabbed hold of the rope and Mary Jane held onto the trolley car.
Lynn: He's not gonna make it!
Luna: He's gonna make it!
Mario (SMG4): (his eyes were crossed again) He's gonna die.
Spider-Man was holding the trolley car's rope as the Goblin was closing in on him.
Green Goblin: It's time to die.
Buttercup: Spider-Man, watch out!
The villain was close to kill him until he got hit by a cup from a group of Spider-Man fans who were on the bridge and hated the Green Goblin.
Wildcat: Come on up here, retard! I got a little something for ya!
Robyn (from Anime America): Yeah! Leave, you freaking ass!
Man: Leave Spider-man alone! You think you gonna pick on a guy trying to save a bunch of kids?
New Yorker: Oh yeah! I got something for your ass!
Robyn (from Anime America): You mess with Spidey, you mess with New York!
BasicallyDoWrk: You mess with one of us, you mess with the whole freakin' big apple! Cause you have to mess with all of us now, Goblin!
Spidey was able to lower the trolley car and Mary Jane into the boat, completely unscathed. The girl saw the villain coming after the hero.
Mary Jane: Spider-Man, watch out!
The Green Goblin tied a rope around Spider-Man and took him into an abandoned building. The Girls and the Loud kids arrived there in a golf kart.
Buttercup: Spidey, are you alright?
Lily: Boom boom.
Luan: Another mess in your diaper?
A pumpkin bomb was dropped.
Luan: Oh, that boom boom.
Lincoln: Hit the deck!
It exploded and tore up half of Spider-Man's mask off. He was flung through a wall from the impact.
Leni: Spidey!
Green Goblin: Misery, misery, misery. That's what you've chosen. I offered you friendship and you spat in my face.
The costumed villain beat up Spider-Man. He then unleashed some attacks on him, even ruining his chance to web-sling out of the way. The web slinger made a web to trap him, but he broke through and continued to beat him up. Spider-Man tried to shoot a web, but the Green Goblin prevented him from doing so.
Green Goblin: You've spun your last web, Spiderman. Had you not been so selfish, your little girlfriend's death would have been quick and painless. But now that you've really pissed me off, I'm gonna finish her nice and slow.
The superhero seethed in anger and rage.
Green Goblin: M.J. and I, we're gonna have a hell of a time.
He attempted to use his jabber on the man, but he grabbed it and pushed it off with all his might. He put him to the ground and attached two webs to a wall, lowering them down onto the villain. The villain got up from the crumbles of the wall, and Spider-Man grabbed him and beat him up brutally.
Green Goblin: Peter, stop! Stop! It's me.
The Green Goblin has unmasked itself, revealing...
The Loud Kids: Norman?!
Norman: Kids, thank God for you.
Lincoln: You killed those people on that balcony.
Norman: The Goblin killed! I had nothing to do with it! Don't let him take me again. I beg you. Protect me.
Blossom: You tried to kill Aunt May and Mary Jane, but not you.
Norman: I tried to stop it. But I couldn't stop it. I would never hurt you.
The man secretly pressed a button to activate his glider from behind the heroes.
Norman: I knew from the beginning... ...if anything ever happened to me... ...it was you I could count on. You, Peter Parker, would save me, and so you have. Thank God for you. Give me your hand. Believe in me as I believed in you. I've been like a father to you. Be a son to me now.
Peter: I have a father. His name was Ben Parker.
Norman: Godspeed, Spider-Man.
The glider got out sharp blades and headed towards the gang.
Lynn: It's a trap!
Lincoln: Jump!
They avoided it, but the glider headed for...
Norman: Oh...
It impaled the man really gruesomely. With his dying breath, he uttered to Peter.
Norman: Peter. Don't tell Harry. (Died)
Heavy: He is dead, no big surprise.
So, they dropped him off at the mansion, but they arrived at the time Harry showed up. He saw this as Spider-Man being responsible for the death of his father.
Harry: What have you done? What have you done?!
He got out a gun, but by then, they were long gone. At the funeral, Peter met up with Harry.
Peter: I'm so sorry, Harry. I know what it's like to lose a father.
Harry: I didn't lose him. He was stolen from me. One day Spider-Man will pay. I swear on my father's grave, Spider-Man will pay. Thank God for you, Peter. You're the only family I have.
The two hugged in sadness, and Harry went into the car.
Lincoln: Should I tell him that his dad is the Green Goblin?
Lisa: Save it for the sequel, Lincoln.
Narrator Peter: No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, the ones I love will always be the ones who pay.
He was at Uncle Ben's grave when Mary Jane came to him.
Mary Jane: (hugs Peter) You must miss him so much.
Peter: It's been so hard without him.
Mary Jane: There's something I've been wanting to tell you. When I was up there and I thought I was gonna die, there was only one person who I was thinking of. And it wasn't who I thought it'd be. It was you, Pete. I kept thinking: "I hope I make it through this, so I can see Peter Parker's face one more time."
Peter: Really?
Mary Jane: There's only one man who's always been there for me who makes me feel like I'm more than I ever thought I could be. That I'm just me. And that's okay. The truth is... I love you. I love you so much, Peter. (They kissed)
Narrator Peter: All I wanted was to tell her how much I loved her.
Peter: I can't...
Mary Jane: You can't what?
Peter: Tell you everything. I mean, there's so much to tell.
Mary Jane: Yeah. There's so much to tell.
Peter: I want you to know that I will always be there for you. I will always be there to take care of you. I promise you that. I will always be your friend.
Mary Jane: Only a friend? Peter Parker?
Peter: That's all I have to give.
And with that, he walked away.
Narrator Peter: Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words, "With great power comes great responsibility. " This is my gift. My curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man.
And so, Peter has repaired his Spider-Man suit and started web-swings over the city. But with the Green Goblin dead, other villains have resurfaced. And that was just the beginning... of his gift and his new life as the Amazing... Spider-Man!
