It was a long day for Sakura preparing to get her things moved in, but by the afternoon, she had everything arranged as best she could. She would have to go back to her old place and get some of her personal effects, but it would have to do for now. It was late, and she wanted to relax and get some rest.

Changing into some comfortable pyjamas, she laid down on the bed, closing her eyes and dozing off. After a few hours, her soundless sleep turned to dreams.

---------------------------------

Sasuke spent most of his day going over case files and organizing things, touching base with Sai on some of the things he'd found. Since Sai was working on the Akasuna case and Sasuke himself knew the most about it, he did his best to go through his case files and help find matches and information. He'd look up the occasional lead and send it along, hoping that Sai could find something to work with. He'd decided he needed to help work the case, especially if his brother was involved.

By night, he'd exhausted himself from work and was pacing, thinking about Itachi's words. He still hadn't heard from Sakura; he'd hoped he might at least get one call. He considered calling her but thought better of it; giving her space was the plan, and he would stick with it. He could show up tomorrow morning, perhaps nice and early, with breakfast in hand. Maybe flowers, too. No... flowers would be too cheesy. Would she even like cheesy?

"She did like them last time," he mused aloud, groaning and sighing. Why was this so hard? It'd taken him copious amounts of work and avoidance and careful coordination to pull off the last date he'd managed. Perhaps he could see if someone could cover her work, and she could have another day off. He could treat her to... something. A spa day? She could probably use it.

Oh, screw it. He fired off one text message to someone he'd never messaged before.

Sorry to bother you, but... what does Sakura like?

Ino would be the person that would know. It was a few moments before his phone chimed again. It was just... three laughing faces. Oh, come on. Couldn't she be more helpful? His phone chimed again, this time with an actual message.

She likes simple things. She's not one for jewelry, though she'll wear it if you buy it for her. Necklaces are your best bet; she can't really wear rings or bracelets, and she's not a fan of earrings. A pretty headband in either mint green or red would be good. Otherwise, take her for a spa day or a massage. Or maybe a movie. She was talking about a new one coming out. I'll find the name and send it to you later. Gotta run. Oh, and if you're getting her flowers, don't get lilacs. She hates lilacs.

Well, that was at least helpful... sort of. He'd already got her a necklace, so perhaps a headband to match the one he'd got her. He'd... save a ring for another time. That would be the only other piece of jewelry he'd ever get her. Sure, they weren't at that point yet, but... One day, he hoped. He couldn't get too far ahead of himself.

--------------------------------

Sakura wasn't sure exactly where she was at first. As things started to come into focus, she could see that she was at home again; she could recognize the layout in the dark without even thinking. Reaching for the light switch, she tried to turn it on; nothing worked. She frantically hit the switch back and forth until, eventually, it sparked on. The light was blinding, filling her entire vision until she could make out only one thing in front of her.
