"Nemi.....what are you doing here?"

Elijah breathed out nervously.

"No, what are you doing here?", I ask him back emphasizing on the 'you'.

"It is not what you think....", Eli had the audacity to say.

"I- wow really? "It is not what you think?" How typically male of you.", I said, flabbergasted that he just said the most used words in the male dictionary to me.

"But please sister, listen, it really isn't what you think.", he said looking desperate.

I just scoffed and turned around to go back into the castle, shaking my head.

So much for a walk.

I reach my room without even realizing, I was lost in my thoughts.

"What was Elijah doing?"

"Why was he all bloody?"

"Most importantly, why was he in the woods?"

For the life of me, I couldn't make out why he was out in the forest. It's exactly what it was- a large forest full of wild animals and whatnot. From what I recall, there weren't any villages nearby on that area.

This is most bizarre.

All the pointless thinking was giving me a headache so I let it be for the time being.

"Oh, Princess, I wasn't aware that you had returned to your chambers", said a surprised Maire. She was the head maid's daughter.

"Oh shut it Maire."

We basically grew up together, her mother being Mrs. Dale and all. She got her snarky remarks and sarcasm that's for sure. But. She was the closest thing to a friend I had in these lonely castle walls.

"What's got you in a sour mood, Nemi?", Maire came to sit next to me, clearly seeing the distress on my face.

"I saw Elijah all bloody in the woods just now"

"Huh. That's so weird. He said he was going to Advena City this morning.", she said, deep in thought herself.

"How would you know?"

"I had stable duty this morning, idiot", Maire rolled her eyes.

I sighed and got up.

"Everything feels so weird Maire", I said looking at her in the eye and running a hand through my hair.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and it opened to reveal my father.

Maire stood up and bowed at the king and gave me a look that said 'good luck' and went on her way.
