I wake up the next afternoon, a little groggy due to obvious reasons.

Maire had come in and shook me up like she does every time I overslept. She gave me a hard look and put my breakfast tray at the night table.

We talked a bit about the upcoming festival. It was the Green Moon festival next month. Hundred and seven years from then was when the Royal Emerald was discovered, ending the war of the supernatural; The Great War Of The Moon and getting our own freedom.

All of supernatural are the children of the moon, thus the name.

It was since then my bloodline has taken the Royal Throne. What happened was like a legend. Most of our people don't believe in it anymore but it was always nice to have our own legend and a festival to go with it. I never believed the myths myself and the only ones who did were some of the elders of our kingdom adamant about keeping our legacy alive.

"We have to go to the festival this year, Nemi.", Said Maire, looking at me hopefully.

"I don't believe in the magical gem and what not. Even if I wanted to go, you know my father won't allow me now that I am to take the throne soon.", I told her smiling sadly.

My father was getting more and more protective of me. Was it because I was to take on the throne? Or Was it because I was getting married soon and he wants to spend more time?

I was always sheltered since my birth for my safety but he still allowed me to attend festivals and tea parties before, that is, with guards of course. But lately he'd been adamant that I stay in the castle at all time.

"You can go without me and tell me all about it!", I say excitedly to elevate her mood.

"Are you sure? I can stay here if you'd like, we could play games or read a book or bake something together, you know, have fun and-"

"Maire! It's alright! Besides I want to hear about what it is like this year. I heard something different was happening?", I cut her rambling off.

"Yes! Did you forget, Nemi? It's the eighth year from the last Green Moon!", Maire said with wide eyes.

Oh right. Every eighth year, the moon actually turns green during midnight for three hours and it is said weird things happen during those hours. It's bizarre but beautiful.

The last time I saw a Green Moon was when I was thirteen. But I was asleep for the most part.

"See, you go and tell me all about it, okay?", I tell her holding her shoulders to be more convincing.

"I- alright. But when I return, we will do something fun together.", she says standing up.

I chuckle at her determination.

Maire then went down to the kitchen saying she had work to do. I had my breakfast and just sat there in my bed, just thinking about what happened last night. So crazy.
