"There were three of us. Three girls. We lived in a cave at the foot of a strategic hill."

⭐This is the full English-translated Version of "Những ngôi sao xa xôi" - a short story written by Lê Minh Khuê. She's one of the most famous female authors in Vietnam who specialize in writing short stories. A short part of this story was brought into the Vietnamese 9th-grade first-term textbook with the same name as the original one. The official English name for this literary masterpiece is "The Distant Stars", which was given by the original translators - Wayne Karlin and Dana Sachs Curbstone Presswho published the book in America in 1997. "The Distant Stars" was a part of "The Stars, The Earth, The River", a collection of 14 stories

(the girl in the above picture is the author, Le Minh Khue, when she was young)

This story is about three girls who served in the Youth Volunteers Brigade and worked as sappers during Vietnam War in Truong Son, joining the force to fight against the American Invaders in the twentieth century. They are Phuong Dinh, Nho and Thao.
