~Jungkook POV~

Her bright innocent eyes stared at me, brown orbs wide with surprise as I stared back at her. She seemed entranced by something.
I was too.

But everything was ruined by the claps. I looked up to see that we were the only ones in the middle and cleared my throat, retracting my arm from her waist, resulting in her dropping to the ground.

"Hey!!" She yelled in surprise as she fell down, looking up at me indignantly. I looked away and walked out, ignoring her yells.

Goddammit, Jeon, what do you think you're doing?!!

~~~
I looked over to some boys, ignoring Tzuyu's conversation with my friends and narrowing my eyes on them, noticing how they snickered and pointed at the oblivious girl. I looked between her and the group, trying to figure out what was going on.
Then I noticed it.
Her hair.
Tzuyu looked up when the bell rang, quickly reaching for her bag before turning away, but not before I reached out and tugged her hair down.
~~~

"What is this? What's happening?" I asked when I noticed the large crowd by the entrances to the fields. Seulgi turned to me, forehead furrowed in worry. "Tzuyu."
I perked up at the mention of her name, but tried not to show it. "What has she gotten herself into this time?"
"It wasn't her fault this time," Jisoo defended. "Chaeyoung said someone else did it, Ms. Han blamed it on Tzuyu because it was her book."
My eyes narrowed. "She told her it wasn't her?" I asked. Jisoo nodded. "Then why is she-"

"Ms. Han didn't believe her," Dahyun interrupted, walking up behind me with Eunbi right behind her. "She said and I quote, 'just because you're the heir's little toy means you can do whatever you want.'"

I frowned and looked up when a loud clap of thunder echoed outside. "She's outside?" I demanded, cursing loudly when the two nodded. "And it's raining?" They nodded again. "Ms. Han is aware that this is illegal, right?"
"Yup..." Eunbi pipped up. "She was also quite adamant that this was the only way."

I cursed once again when I heard said teacher's shrill voice through the speakers. "How long has she been there?"
"About half an hour." Jihyo said, walking up to us with her phone in hand, a worried expression on her face. "I have Hoseok and Jin going to Ms. Han-"
"That won't do." I muttered, already pushing students out of my way. "I'll go get her."
"What?!!" Jihyo yelled. "Jungkook, it's raining out there!! You'll get sick!! Let us handle it."
"Tzuyu wouldn't handle the cold, noona." I retorted, stopping right in front of the gate, surprised that Taehyung was there. "Hyung."

He nodded in reply. "Hey." He murmured, eyes trained on the small figure in the middle of the field, only turning to me when I started to climb over the gate. "What are you doing?!"

"Saving her." I snapped, glaring at him just standing there. "Like what you should've done ever since you found out about this."

I jumped down on the other side, bringing my blazer up to my head and turned to run for her, ignoring Taehyung's attempt at defending himself.

~~~
I rubbed my hair as I used one hand to lock the door of the building, sighing as I trudged through the field.
"It was you, wasn't it?"
I frowned and looked behind me to see Lisa, Yeri, Mina and Nayeon. I raised my eyebrow at the four. "What do you mean?"
"Tzuyu." Mina said simply, shrugging. "She was acting weird when we went to the mall."
"And... you're automatically blaming me?" I asked, playing innocent. "I haven't seen her."
"Oh, cut the absolute BS, Jeon," Lisa scowled. "The boys haven't seen you after classes and we know that if you inevitably disappear, you go to the swimming pool."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed, turning away from the girls and walking away.
Unfortunately, they caught up with me and continued pestering me.
"You also sent Taehyung after her." Lisa added, making me stop and look at them in annoyance.
"So?"
"You have to stop doing that to the poor guy." Nayeon said, frowning in concern. "It's not fair for him."
I sighed. "He's doing it with no arguments whatsoever. So he's fine with it, noona." I said, voice laced with finality, turning away once again thinking our conversation was done.
But Lisa stopped me once again.
"Taehyung likes her, Jungkook."
~~~

"You like her, don't you?"

My hands gripped the ledge when a voice disturbed me, but then again, I was in the most predictable place to be, dangling my feet over the rooftop of the school, tucked into the broken space of the railings.

I turned and had to suppress an eye roll when I saw who it was. "Taehyung," I said, barely faking a calm demeanor. "What are you talking about?"
"Tzuyu. You like her." I rolled my eyes at this. If what Lisa said was true, then he shouldn't be saying this to me.
"I don't like her, hyung." I snapped venomously. He walked over and braced his elbows on the broken railing beside me and raised an eyebrow, a doubtful expression on his face. "Really, huh?" He asked, making me nod. He nodded and looked down, a smirk on his face. "She kissed me, you know?"

What?

"Right here," He pointed to the corner of his lips. "Said she was too shy to actually do it," He looked at me, smirk widening. "I did it myself."
I took a deep breath and looked away, barely keeping myself from punching that stupid smirk off his face. "So?" I asked, feigning indifference. "Why are you telling me this?"

"Just to brag," He said casually, shrugging again. "Thought you would have a good laugh about it with me, since, you know, that's been your goal ever since that thing she did on the first day," He had the audacity to look at me with an eyebrow raised. "Right?"
I barely nodded, but he managed to see it and continued. "I can see why you played her. She's naive, thinking she can hold up against you," He said, ignoring my shaking fists. "She's too ignorant, too trusting, too innocent for this school. I'm surprised you haven't kicked her out."
"Yeah." I breathed out stiffly, standing up on the ledge and leaning beside him, careful to keep my features blank. "I'm... taking my time with her."

He looked at me in shock. "My gosh, Jungkook," He said in awe, respect in his features. "Don't tell me your gonna fu-"

That was all I could take, I immediately knew what he was gonna say and interrupted him by fisting the front of his shirt. "Keep talking, I dare you." I hissed menacingly, only letting go when the door burst open and the hyungs pried us apart.

"What? I just thought you were gonna take her. I mean, who wouldn't like to see that innocent face corrupted?" Taehyung goaded, letting Yoongi hyung and Namjoon hyung restrain him. "You have to agree that she acts so stupidly innocent it's almost insulting-"

"JUNGKOOK!!"

Jimin and Jin hyung pulled away when Taehyung fell to the ground, hand gripping his jaw as a small bruise formed.
"Take that back," I growled, struggling against the hyungs. "Take that fucking back, Kim!!"
I pulled my hands away from the two hyungs but they kept their grip on me as Namjoon and Hoseok hyung helped Taehyung stand up. I prepared myself to punch him again, but stopped when he chuckled. He gripped his jaw again and smiled at me, surprising me. "I knew it."

I frowned in confusion. "What?"

"I knew it," He repeated triumphantly. "You like her. You like Tzuyu."

A/N:

Contrary to popular belief, Tae isn't the antagonist here.

Also, Olivia Rodrigo's SOUR Album is amazing, go listen to it. I may or may not have gotten a ton of story and story scene prompts so yeah. Go listen to it, I've been suffering from LSS because of it!!
