~Tzuyu POV~

*RING RING*

I puffed my cheeks up and stood up, making sure to avoid any kind of eye contact, but I still caught the substitute's eyes.
"Guess I'll see you around, Miss Chou." He whispered when I passed him and winked at me. I felt my face heat up so I looked away and practically ran out of the room.

"Hey, Tzuyu!!"

I turned around to see Lisa running after me. "Come on, I'll show you around." She suggested and grabbed my wrist. We were about to run away when another hand grabbed my shoulder.
"Miss Chou?"
I gulped and turned around. It's that guy again, Kim Taehyung.
I avoided his gaze and looked down. That's when I noticed his ID, a very shiny gold.

What is up with these different colored ID's?!!

"You know it's rude not to look at the person who's talking to you." He said in a deep voice. My heart started racing and I looked up, making him tilt his head and give me a tight-lipped smile. He raised his hand and moved his finger, but then I squinted and realized he wasn't moving his fingers.
He was playing with something.

My birthstone hairclip.

My hands immediately flew up to my hair and I gasped when I didn't feel it.
"That's mine!!" I exclaimed. He chuckled and studied the hairclip. I bit the inside of my cheek and reached for it. "Give it back!!"

He quickly moved it away and gave me an amused smile. His free hand gently gripped my chin and he slipped the hairclip in my hair, tucking it in tight and then letting his fingers slip through my ponytail. I held my breath as his fingers ran through my hair gently.

He hummed. "I'll see you later, Miss Chou." He said and winked at me before walking away. I let out a breath and gasped when I felt something in between my fingers.

He had somehow slipped a pen into my hand, a black pen with his name engraved in gold.

"You are so whipped." Lisa piped up beside me, making me glare at her.

"So," Lisa started, walking ahead of me. "Do you know what a caste system is?"

After Taehyung left, Lisa pulled me away, pass the cafeteria and into a weird garden that had apple trees and flowers planted everywhere.

I frowned in confusion. "Caste system? Like the thing they do where they give numbers or something?"
Lisa grinned and plucked an apple from one of the trees. "Bingo." She said and washed the apple at a nearby faucet. "That's exactly what we have here."
My eyebrows shot up in both confusion and surprise. "What? What do you mean it's exactly what we have here?!!" I exclaimed.
Lisa shrugged casually and bit into the apple. "It's exactly what it means," She mumbled. "SIS runs on a caste system. They group the students into numbers. 1 being campus royalties and 5's being the outcasts."

I straightened. "Wait... but... I'm a 5!"

She nodded. "Exactly," She pointed at my ID, her lip curling with distaste. "The color of your ID represents your number. Gold ID's are 1's, silvers are 2's, bronze ID's are 3, 4's are white, and... 5's are black."

"There are only 11 royalties here, you've met some of them," She sat down on a bench and patted the seat beside her, looking at me pointedly. "Taehyung is one... Jungkook too."

"Who's Jungkook?" I asked and sat down beside her. Lisa raised an eyebrow at me. "You hit the guy in the head with a shoe and you don't even know his name?"
My eyes widened in realization. "THAT was Jungkook?!" I exclaimed. Lisa nodded and fiddled with her ID lace.

"The 1's are basically the daughters and sons of the school's shareholders... but one of them is the heir." She looked at me again, making my jaw drop in horror.
"Don't tell me-"
"Yup." Lisa blew her bangs away from her face and threw the apple core in a nearby trash can, grinning in satisfaction when it went in. "Jeon Jungkook. You just hit the heir of the most prestigious school in Korea in the head... with a shoe."

I stared at her, my eyes wide open, as I tried to process what she said.

"Jeon Jungkook. You just hit the heir of the most prestigious school in Korea in the head... with a shoe."

Holy shit.

"The 2's are the campus royalty protectors," Lisa continued and held up her ID. "I'm one of the 12 girls that protect them."
"Girls... protecting boys?" I scrunched my nose in confusion. "Why?"
"Dunno." She shrugged. "We're close friends with them, but our families are apparently not rich enough to be a shareholder."

"The 3's are the popular ones, some of them are the children of famous politicians or something like that. There's Kang Daniel, Momo, GOT7 and EXO..."
I lit up at the mention of them. "They study here?!" I gasped in excitement. Lisa smiled at my enthusiasm. "We're close with Momo. I don't think you'll see the others anytime soon, they're too busy with their performances."
She must've noticed my disappointment because she nudged my shoulder playfully. "Hey, cheer up," She said, smiling. "There's a chance you'll see them."

"The 4's and 5's are kind of the same. Students who aren't rich but can still enroll. Some are scholars, athletes and stuff."

"Why do we run on a caste system?" I asked. "And why doesn't the world know about this?!"
Lis shrugged and stood up. "As far as we know, it's been like this since the school was built," She answered and walked out of the garden. I followed after her, another question bubbling up m throat, but Lisa beat me to it. "The new students that enroll here every year are usually told about this just before classes start. I was really surprised that you don't know about this."

I stayed silent for a while until we got inside the school.

"Wait a sec..." I mumbled. "Lisa!!'
The girl hummed and tilted her head, but she didn't look at me.
"If you're a campus royalty protector... who are you protecting?" I asked. She finally turned and smirked at me.

"That's for you to find out."

Then the bell rang.
