Today was the day.

Today was the day that I'd hit the one year mark.

Stuck in this damn bed.

As almost a gift, a certain doctor who had been taking care of me all this time had decided to surprise me. I was instructed to cover my eyes before he entered the room and I quickly did as told. Now all I could hear were his footsteps and the beeping of my heart moniter.

As much as I needed that monitor, I really wished it never existed.

Of course, I knew my feelings towards the doctor. I mean I've had a year sitting in the same spot thinking about it so I shouldn't even try to deny it.

But him?

No way he's into guys.

So it's better just to keep it a secret between me and mr.monitor.

I could feel something light be placed down in my lap followed by his words "You can uncover your eyes now."

Once my hands were no longer on my eyes, I looked straight to my lap. Sitting there, was a crochet plush of a bunny. It was my favorite color as well.

My eyes lit up, not even acknowledging that he was rambling on about how hard it was to make.

Before he could finish, I quickly threw my arms around him. The heart monitor was going crazy as he slowly returned my act of affection. I'd doubt he's ever givin someone a hug before let alone get one from someone.

"Thank you 2b"

My voice was as weak and scratchy as ever. He says it sounds like it's getting better but I know he only says that to make me feel better.

"Congratulations on living."

Way to set the mood.

Either way, it was funny enough to get a snicker out of me and I let go of him before he got uncomfortable.

I was only expected to live for a few more months after he found this incurable disease inside of me.

Though it was covered by his mask and bandages, I could see his eyes squint up slightly meaning he was smiling and gave a bright smile in return. "Is this your project you have been working on for the past three months?" I laughed.

Lifting a finger, about to say something, he stopped almost as if he had no response.

"Perhaps."
