A year later.

Winter and Karina's bond became stronger, midnight talks on the rooftops, exchanging kisses, cuddles,
going on dates, late night movies, walking hand in hand on the beach,
star gazing, were regular.

They were happiest with each other,
they were happiest in each other's arms, they felt safest in the comfort of each other.

Winter loved Karina.

She loved how Karina would give her cuddles.
She loved watching Karina smile.
If she was happy, Winter was happy too.

Their most memorable date was on Karina's seventeenth birthday.

They went to Karina's favourite café.
Winter got Karina a giant teddy bear for Karina and her heart fluttered at the sight of Karina brightening up and cooing at the sight of the teddy.

In matching clothes and hands intertwined, eyes only for each other, they made their way to Karina's favourite café.

Winter had even surprised Karina by giving her a red velvet cake, which was Karina's favourite.

She loved how happy Karina looked.

After their meal at the café, they went for a long walk in their favorite park, it was their favorite park, because it was where they had first met each other.

They sat on a bench, enjoying the view of the park.

Winter had her head on Karina's shoulder, everything seemed so perfect, she wished time would stop and it would be just her and Karina forever.

Then suddenly her eyes fell on a small bush of wild flowers, she quietly sneaked out and plucked a small flower.

Karina was confused when Winter suddenly disappeared, but was surprised by someone tapping her back from behind making her turn toward that direction.

She was given a silly yet pleasant surprise when Winter stood there like a suitor handing her a wild flower,
"Would you have this dance with me fair lady?" Winter teased, Karina let out a giggle, "I would love to my lady" she said taking the flower and sniffing it as if it were a rose, Karina coughed, making winter worried, "Are you okay?" she asked her face turning into worry.

"The flower smells horrible" Karina said trying to contain her laughter, Winter bursted out laughing with her.

The two girls danced in the park like there was no one else there, they were least bothered about the fact that people seeing them, they were in love and were each other's, they did not mind letting the world know about it.

"I can't wait for my eighteenth birthday"
Karina said.

"Me neither" Winter answered.

They laughed happily.

Both of them not aware of what was lying ahead of them.
