My Reaper

Chapter Nine

I woke the next morning. I looked beside me and Ope was still sleeping. I escaped the lumberjack hold and went up stairs.  I grabbed my clothes and went to the bathroom and started a shower.  I heard my phone ringing so I went to go get it. It was Jax of course.
  "Hello." I answered.
   "Hey I came by last night but no one answered the door, I just wanted to make sure your safe. " he said.
  "When is this gonna stop?" I asked. I raised my eyebrow.
  "What do you mean?" He asked. I I sighed. 
  "Ever since I've been out of the hospital you guys been all worry and that's not good for the club." I said. I heard Jax chuckled.
  "Well your my little sister of course I'm gonna be worried about you." He said. I pinched the bridge of my nose.
  "Ok and your my older brother who I prefer to stay in one piece." I said.
  "What's going on with you Elle?" He asked.
  "What happens if the Nords uses me to get you off your game, your making me become your weakness." I said. I heard Jax sighed.
   "So did Ope tell you?" Jax asked.
  "Yeah he did, is Tig ok?" I asked. Then I remember my shower Oh shit. I ran all the way to the bathroom and turned off the faucet. 
  "Hes ok a few of his ribs are cracked but he'll survive." He said.   I stayed quiet.
   "Elle this isn't your fault." Jax said. I sniffled and wiped away my tears.
   "It is." I said quietly. 
  "We suspect that Darby wasn't the guy." Jax said.
  "How do you know?" I asked. Jax chuckled.
  "Because Darby guys wasn't even around, they were in Oakland selling to the Mayans." Jax said.
  "So who is it then?" I asked. 
   "The Nords." He said. I froze and stared at the wall then he appeared.
  "Hi Ellie how you doing?" Asked him. Then his face changed to red and he dissapeared. 
  "Elle!" Jax yelled into the phone.
  "You cant tell Ope." I said quietly.
   "Elle, is this about Derek?" He asked.
   "Elle listen to me hes dead." He said.
  "You don't know that they never found his body." I said worried.
  "Clay put a bullet through his heart." Jax said.
     "Doesn't mean hes dead." I said. Jax sighed.
  "Look we both know he got people and he is involved in these Nords." I said. Jax laughed.
  "Jax this isn't funny." I said angrily. 
"It doesn't make sense." Jax said.
  "We broke up a year ago. Ope and Donna were still together and around this time they would've been married, he doesn't know about you and Wendy being divorce. Its smart. Wait a year where everyone doing their own shit and boom exposure." I said. Jax scoffed.
  "Then we need to put more people on protecting you." He said.
  "No if you guys truly wanna catch him then you have to make it look that way." I said.
   "Alright." Jax said. I smiled then I noticed a black SVU sitting out side the house.   I ignored it.
   "Hey I gotta go." I said then I went down stairs and woke up Ope.  He lifted himself upright on the couch.
  "Hey you ok?" He asked.  I shook my head. He pulled me into a hug and started to play with my hair.
  "What's wrong?" He asked. I shook my head.
  "I dont wanna talk about it." I said then someone tried to open the door. Ope let me go and got up.
"You stay in here." He said.
  "Ope no." I said. Then they tried to open the door again. Ope grabbed the gun on the table.  I grabbed Ope arm.
  "Your not going alone." I whispered. He nodded.
  "Ok but if it gets dangerous I want you to run." He whispered when we got up to the door. Ope cocked the gun. Right when he opened  the door the barrel of the gun went to Piney forehead.  Wait PINEY?
"God damn it pops." He said. Piney started to laugh.
  "I'm here for Elle." He said. Ope raised his eye brow and I went back into  the living room. Ope moved out of the way. Piney came in with a little box.
  "Hi Elle." He said. Then he handed me a box. I took it and gave him a weird look.  Piney sat down next to me and looked at Opie.
  "Go get us something drink will ya ope?" Piney asked. Ope walked into the kitchen. Piney sighed.
  "Your dad loved you very much. Which is why I had to give you this when I found  it." He said. I opened the box and saw a picture of me and my dad on his motorcycle. I was maybe 15 months old at the time. I smiled. I looked over at Piney.
  "Your dad gave me this picture after you guys got in a car crash." He said. I looked over at him confused.  Piney chuckled.
  "Someone cut your dads break and you guys went into a tree, you were hurt pretty bad even escaped death." He said. I looked over at him and chuckled.
  
   "Yeah mom told me, dad cried for months because of that." I said still memorized by the picture.
  "You look like the splitting image of him." He said. Ope walked back into the living room.
   "Why did you give it to her now?" Ope asked. I looked up at him and smiled.
   "Because he had me promise that I wouldn't give it to her unless she needed hope." Piney said. I chuckled and wiped away a tear.
  "Under the circumstances I thought it would be the best time." Piney grumbled. I laughed, it's funny when Piney shows he has a heart. Then Piney get a phone call.
  "Hello." He said. His face dropped then he looks over at Opie.
   "We need to get to the club house right now." He said. Ope nodded then looked at me.   Then Piney looked at me.
  "Will you be ok by yourself?" He asked. I nodded and got up.
  "But the last time I left you alone." He started.  I walked over to him and put my finger to his lips.
  "It'll be ok." I said then I kissed his cheek. Ope gave me a sad smile then pulled me into a hug.
  "Be careful." I whispered. Ope kissed me goodbye and then left. 
  "No we should bring her with us." Piney said.  I opened my mouth to argue but Piney put his finger up.
  "Your coming  go get ready." He said I put my head down and sighed.
   "I cant I got something to do today." I said.  Piney rolled his eyes.
  "Pops let it go. Elle I'll drop you off on the way." Ope said.  I smiled and shook my head.  Ope scoffed and Piney looked over at me pissed.
  "Oh hell no little missy you arent walking." Piney said. I scoffed and looked over at Ope.
   "I agree." He said.  I shook my head.
  "You guys do know I own a car right?" I asked sarcastically. 
  "Yeah we know but." He said.
  "No buts, I'm going by myself I'll be fine." I said then I got on my tip toes and kissed Ope. 
  "I promise. " I said quietly. His eyes softened then he nodded his head.
  "Then you call me when you get there." He said. I nodded and smiled. Then Ope and the old man left.  I took a deep breath and went into my car. After I got there in a place I haven't been at since I was little. I took a deep breath.
