I laid back on Leslie's blue and green chair while she quickly showered in the bathroom. She smelled of salt water and fish, although I loved the scent of the ocean she disliked it. I could hear the water running and the music blasting, while she sang along to Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

Jessie seemed to take over my thoughts and I couldn't help but wonder how he was doing. I sent him a text message and waited impatiently for his reply. Soon enough a notification popped on my screen, informing me he replied. I stupidly smiled at his message.

"You should come to the bonfire tonight" I pleaded casually.

"I'll be there, Michael invited me"

"Great, I'll see you there"

At the corner of my eye I could see Leslie searching for a pair of shoes. I handed her her black vans with a smile in my face. She gave me a sarcastic 'thank you'. A wonderful idea popped into my mind filling me with excitement. "We should go find an outfit for tonight!" I loved shopping honestly. Walking around relaxed me and I would always pick on the unknown teenagers that surrounded the place. She nodded at my decision with a wide smile.

After an hour of walking into different stores we managed to find a suiting outfit for the occasion, but of course we bought more than what we needed. As we exited the mall, I recognized some of our piers from school and greeted them. We walked off towards Leslie's gray Jeep and hopped inside. I dropped all of my bags in the space of my feet. The ride was only ten minutes. We sang to the popular song streaming on the radio and made small talks.

One of my favorite things were bonfires. I cherished time with my friends and knew in a short period of time I would be going off to college. The thought of distancing my self from my friends gave me an aching pane in my heart. I decided to push that file to the very back of my head and focus on the road ahead. Michael had picked us up since we had bags with blankets and other props we were going to use for tonight.

We got there on time and we could see our fire from a far already. I guess someone already beat us there. We saw 15 people there and I didn't doubt more people were headed out way. When we held a bonfire it was huge, not just a couple people. Three out of ten would get high but we didn't drink at all. The sight of Jessie got closer and I could see some girl getting awfully close to him and giggling at whatever he spoke of. A rush of jealousy took over my body, but I pretended not to care. Jessie caught a glimpse of me and he quickly rushed over to me, cutting off the blonde bimbo trying to get with him. I lightly chuckled at the furious expression printed on her face. I felt Jessies arms wrap aroun my body and give me a tight hug, he had a wide smile covering his whole face. I felt his soft lips brush against my cheek and place a gentle kiss. Him and I started walking towards the area where most of our friends were socializing.

Blankets were places all over the place converting the sand. Some one knocked down some coconuts and chipped off the top so we could drink out of it. yum. I picked two off the ground and started sipping on mine. It was already 10:46pm and I was extremely tired. We all took pictures, ran around with sparklers, set off fire works and talked for hours. I could never picture living without these amazing souls that are surrounding me at this moment. The all give me life, and a reason to look forward to every day. It sounds very...cliché, but its the honest truth.

Me and Jessie separated ourselves from the group and walked along the edge of the beach. I sat down on the soft wet sand, not caring for the sea water washing into my shorts. Jessie did the same and plopped down next to me, he wrapped his arm loosely around my waist. I smiled looking at the stars. Stargazing was one of my favourite things to do. I could feel Jessie's eyes staring at me but I ignored it enjoying the beautiful sky. "I love you" I heard his words slip from his lips.

I was surprised by his words but I covered it up and looked at him. His eyes were so perfect, even though I could hardly see them. "I love you too Jessie." I finally replied to him. He smiled largly, I really meant it. It was wierd, me and Jessie could act like a couple and like best friends at the same time. He leaned down and gently pressed his lips against mine.

I didn't want to be in love; but I was.
