Chasing the Sun

The whole ride we sang loudly to songs that played on the radio. We got to the mall in twenty minutes. Im probably going to end up spending my money buying food. We got out of the car and walked in through the food court. We decided to split so Leslie left with Broseph and I stayed here with Jessie. It had been a while since me and Jessie hung out so I was happy.

"How about we just walk around?" I asked anxiously.

"Yeah sure" he responded with a smile.

We walked and talked about school and old memories we had together. We joked about what we thought people were thinking, and pranked some.

"What do you want to do tonight? Just you and me." He asked me.

I was surprised by the random question. I sat there in silence for a minute or two.

"Why dont we just have a movie night?". I replied sounding awfully nervous.

"Do you want to go home now or wait a little longer?", he asked.

"Lets stop by the pretzel stand and then we can go" I mentioned and laughed.

I ordered my pretzel and slushy, then left. I texted Leslie so we could go home.

Me: we should head home.
Leslie: Kay. I'll be down in like 5 min.

I noticed Jessie staring at me, but i pretended I didnt notice him and kept scrolling through my messages. I looked up and he flashed me charming smile; i loved his braces so much, they were blue and red, he looked so cute with them.

I saw Leslie come out through the tall doors with four bags in her hands. Broseph had about eight, he loves shopping more than we do. We walked towards our car and left. Once we all got home Broseph went home with Leslie to hang out and Jessie walked with me. I felt odd since me and Leslie are ALWAYS together.

"Im going to get ready." I said

"Kay, I'll meet you at my house in 2 hours?" he asked with a nervous tone in his voice. I dont know why he was so nervous.

"Ok, do I need to bring anything?"

"Prob some pjs." He said with a smile.

I smiled back at him and gave him a hug. I didnt want to rush since it was two hours and I take no time at all. Feeling kind of tired I walked into my bathroom and decided to take a bath.

I dried up and walked into my closet to pick something to wear. I didnt know what to wear. I sent Jessie a text then.

Me: What should i wear?
Jessie: Something casual doesn't matter.

I sighed with relief, glad I didn't have to wear something fancy. I picked out my black joggers, bandana sweatshirt and a beanie.

I walked back into the bathroom to apply some makeup and put mousse on my curly hair to keep it down. I stared at the mirror for a while...I felt bad about my image (like always). I didnt have the light blue/green eyes all the other girls had, or the blonde perfect straight hair. But I tried to ignore it once again. The silence was interupted by my phone, Jessie was calling me on Facetime so I answered. His face popped up; him and his cute little smile.

"Hey you all set?" He asked with an exciting look in his eyes.

"Yeah I'll be right over" I answered with a smile.

"No wait, I'll come over on my board and pick you up."

I gave him one last okay and we hung up. I was suddenly feeling nervous and butterflies flew all over in my stomach uncontrollably. I heard a knock at the door and grabbed my phone and longboard really fast on my way out.

I answered the door and saw a super cute boy dressed in a t-shirt and joggers holding flowers. I felt my self smiling a big smile and my heart pounded very fast. He looked handsome and cute at the same time.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes I am"

We decided to walk since his house, which wasn't that far. That way we could converse on the way there. We finally got to his house and he leaded me up the stairs into his room. He covered my eyes. I felt his arm reach over to open his room door.

Oh.my.gosh.

He set up a fort with blankets in the floor. I walked inside the fort and saw lights hanging inside, pillows all over the ground, his laptop set on netflix and a Dominos Pizza box. I turned around to look at him.

"Oh my gosh Jessie this is perfect. I love it, this is exactly what we did when I first spent the night at your house."

Me and Jessie had been friends since the seventh grade and my mom decided to give me her trust and let me sleep over. Jessie set up a fort with netflix that night and his mom bought pizza. We talked for hours and I would say we watched about twenty movies that night.

"I knew you would like this" he said with a magnificent smile on his face. It was highly contagious. "Lets start the night."

He scrolled through the movies and picked out 4 movies we would watch: Safe Haven, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Ferris Buelers Day Off. The classics where the best,we were both into them.

We laid down on the pillows and I slowly started to fall asleep. I woke up after a couple of hours feeling well rested but confused. Like everyone does after a long nap.

I got up to look for him and heard some noises in the kitchen. I walked slowly down the stairs, since I was still half asleep. He was looking in the freezer (probably for ice cream) so I sat on the counter quietly and wrapped my legs around his torso, then pulled him towards me. I could feel him laughing. He turned around and placed my hands in his.

"Sleeping Beauty has awaken" he spoke first.

I blushesd. My hair was very messy and he was shirtless.ugh. He looked down and smiled at me. I looked up and returned the smile. He started playing with my long curls. I was still looking at him. He looked into my eyes, then at my lips. I know he wanted to kiss me, and I really wanted to kiss him. I felt a rush in my stomach.He leaned down, suddenly his soft lips touched mine. Everything around me didn't matter anymore, and there couldn't have been anything better than this. I pulled away after a while, I could tell he didn't want to, I smiled at him and gave him another last peck on the lips. He kissed my fore head softly.

"You have nooooo idea how long I have been waiting for that." he chuckled.

I smiled at him a big, sweet, smile. We decided to walk upstairs to finish the movies.
