"It's pink with purple polka dots." I told the luggage worker.
Since I got here, apparently they didn't know where the last of my five bags of luggage were. I found four, but the last one, the most colorful of them all, wasn't in sight.
I had already met Joanna and she was going around to the lost and found to see if they had my bag or not.
"Wait what color is it, again?" asked the worker
"Pink with purple polka dots." I said.
He nodded before turning his back to me.
"Nope, not there Ky." said Joanna, panting from running.
"Joanna don't tell me you were running.." I drifted off
"Ok, first, don't ever call me Joanna, it's Joey. And second, yea, I was, considering we have missing luggage here." said Joanna
"Is this you bag, ma'am?" asked the worker, breaking up our mini fight.
"Yes!" I squealed, hugging the bag.
"Thank you so very much!" I said, not turning my attention to the worker.
"Listen Ky, our house isn't that far away from the airport, so how about we can just eat spaghetti at home, my mom's already making it?"
"It's fine." I said, getting into the car and turning my head to the window.
Tears started to form in my eyes. Joey was so lucky to still have a mom. I lost mine in a fire. A fire that I could've saved her from. But I was too late.
A tear trickled down my cheek, leaving a trail that anyone could tell.
As I've seen, Joey is the talkitave kind. So, it kind of scared me when she stopped talking. But, it was what I wanted. Temporary peace. No talking no singing nothing. Just, peace. Just some time to calm my thoughts with my cousin who had the same kind of life.
"We'll be home in 10 minutes." stated Joey.
"Okay," I said, not caring
"By the way.." she said, turning her head to me. I quickly wiped away my tears and looked at her.
"Yea?" I said.
"Don't do all the stuff. I've found out but mom doesn't know. Just stop. Ok?" said Joey.
Ever since mom died, I've been going to bars and nightclubs, hooking up with some random guy every other night, drinking, smoking, almost every bad thing! I really didn't know how Joey found out but I wasnt going to question is.
"But Joey.." I pleaded "I need to!"
"No you don't!" I could see the anger rising
"Yes I fucking do! You don't know what it feels like to have lost a mother and father! To be an only child! To be forced to live when you don't have a reason to! Girl, you actually have a mom who loved you enough to stay!" I said.
I bit my lip. I just realized my words. Joey doesn't know how it would've felt to have lost a mother, but she definatly knows how it feels to have lost a dad.
I took a deep breath. "Sorry." I mumbled, hugging her.
"Aww it's alright sweetie." she said, hugging back. "Just don't go to those nightclubs and bars. Okay?" she asked.
I sighed. "Ok, I guess." I said.
She got a little happy, but couldn't really show it because she was driving.
We pulled into a driveway a slight moment later. It was seal-coated with dark cement perfectly.
I wouldnt say Joey lived in a mansion, but if it was any bigger, it'd be a mansion.
The huge brown house had a few bushes in the front, adding a little homey touch.
"Now," started Joey "Since we have such a big house, you get your own room." she finished with a smirk.
"Okay," I said, happy that I'd get some privacy.
Joey unlocked the front door and the smell of spaghetti took a moment to reach my nose.
"Mhm," I said, sniffing.
"Hello my sweet darling!" I heard Aunt Claire say
"Oh my gosh, hello Aunt Claire!" I said, throwing my arms around her.
"How is my little girl?" she asked, instantly wanting to take that back.
Like seriously, how would a 16 year old only child be, having lost a mother and father, and moving across the country with her Aunt?
"Pretty good." I replied, trying not to take the answer too seriously.
"Well that's good." said Aunt Claire, smiling at me. "Jo would you mind taking Kylie to her room?" Aunt Claire asked Joey.
"Sure thing mom." she said, nodding her head towards me.
I grabbed a suitcase while Joey grabbed another. Guess the other three will have to wait until later.
Joey took me through a maze of hallways, surprising me of how she didn't get lost. But again, it's her house.
I thought my room would be small, but no, it was like Carly's room from iCarly. It was huge and colorful, just the way I liked it.
"This is your room." said Joey, pointing at the room. "We had a bunch of posters up but you can put whatever posters or pictures you want. Oh and by the way," she pointed to a door at the end of the room "That's an attached bathroom. On the other side of it is my room which is also attached to the bathroom. So basicly, we both will have to share a bathroom." she paused "Or you can use the other two bathrooms in the house. I'll show you them later. Start unpacking." she said, smiling as she walked out the door.
Wow. This place was huge. Let alone, it was my room!
I quickly started unpacking, starting with my clothes. I hung them in the closet one by one. After that, I unpacking all my books, electronics, and school supplies. Last, I added all the homey touches. Like...My One Direction poster in front of my bed so id see it every morning. And my One Direction pillow case. And my 342 magezines with One Direction in them. Also my One Direction bed sheets. And so much more.
You could say I'm obssessed, but I'd call it dedicated. You could say I'm crazy, but I'm just a Directioner.
Being a Directioner I love them all, but I truly got a soft spot for Zayn...but then there's those days where I love Niall, or Louis, or Liam, or Harry, or mostly all five!
I checked the time. It was 6 pm. I changed into comfy sweatpants and a hoodie and walked downstairs.
"Oh your ready already?!" exclaimed my Aunt
"Aha Yeah.." I said
"Wow that was only 45 minutes," she paused "dinners ready!" she exclaimed.
A moment later Joey came stomping down the stairs, she loved food, but she was very skinny. Lucky her.
We gobbled down our food, followed by my aunts yummy apple pie. Honestly, it was delicous.
I said goodnight to Aunt Claire and Joey, then walked into my room to sleep away the night.
The first thing that caught my eye was movement. Something was moving on the other side of the room.
I quickly turned, and out my bedroom window was another house, and through that house window was a gorgeous looking, brown-eyed boy, probably 17 or 18. He was totally perfect. His eyes were glaring at me, trying to see my expression.
He brought his hand up to his head, scratching the back of it. This action wanted me to melt then and there. He was totally perfect. Perfection. To top it all off, he was shirtless. Yea, imagine that. Sexy.
He mouthed me "Goodnight" and gave a slight wave.
I waved back and he walked off to his bed.
I walked to my bed and stared at my One Direction poster. Maybe living here won't be so bad after all.
