Harry pulled out his own stick but hesitated as if he didn't know who to direct it towards. The fact that he didn't automatically aim the laser pointer at the band of misfits made it safe-ish to assume he knew them and that they weren't here to kill him. But that didn't mean I would trust them either.
"Percy, let Sirius go. That's my godfather. They're not here to hurt me," Harry explained calmly.
I was close to the kitchen, near to Harry, so I shuffled over there. Then I thrust him away, threw the stick back, and reached for a long butcher knife while palming a smaller one in my left hand. In hind sight, I should've kept the stupid stick.
Holding the longer knife in a defensive position, I said to Harry, "I don't really care who they are. They have been following us- no, following you for the past month, they barged into our home unannounced and uninvited, then they broke a lamp and threatened me with their stupid light things! I want them out! Get out!" I could feel my own irritability rising like high tide. I was sure my eyes did that swirly, stormy thing everyone had told me about too.
Harry tried to placate my obvious anger but didn't know what to do. He'd never seen me quite like this before. At the same time, Sirius decided to be more of an ass.
"I'll show you a stupid light!" he spat as he sent volleys of the light beams that sometimes broke objects at me. I dodged them or blocked them with the steel blade, but the kitchen cabinets, much like the lamp, were not as lucky.
"Harry!" I shouted over the sound of broken doors and plates and whatever noise the stick was making. "Tell your godfather to back off or I will throw a knife at him!"
To his credit, Harry did plead with Sirius to stop in attempt to deescalate the situation, but his godfather only told him to stay out of it. So I made good on my word and threw the smaller knife in my left hand at the one holding the stick. It only grazed his palm, but it was enough to get the man to drop the branch-like thing. The others still had their pathetic weapons, but they didn't move to use them. Smart choice.
"I want you all out of this house," I ordered sternly. "You were never welcomed in and now you definitely aren't. Get out!"
Tweed jacket guy did the smart thing and pulled Sirius back towards the door, but before anyone left the threshold, Harry jumped in.
"Wait! Everyone just... hold on!"
"Harry, I don't want them in our house after they nearly destroyed the place," I argued still pissed off.
"It's as you said, Percy. This is our house. It's my home as much as yours, isn't it?"
Some of my anger dispelled after that. Not a lot, but enough for me to be willing to listen. And I had a feeling Harry knew that would happen.
"Of course it is. But do you seriously want them to stay here? Look at the damage," I replied with only a slight wolf glare towards his godfather at the end.
"Look, I know this is confusing and you're mad, I get that, but I trust these people, and I want you to hear them out. There are things that I've kept from you, and I want to tell you, but I need them to stay here for that."
I didn't say anything, only silently regarded him with a blank face. I was too overloaded with information to make a rational decision.
But Harry wasn't going to wait for one. Before I could get a word in, he added, "If you kick them out, I'm leaving with them."
I couldn't keep the shock off my face after that. And I couldn't hide the hurt from my eyes either. I wasn't sure if Harry picked up on the latter fact, but I sure felt it. To know that he would choose these people, his life in Britain, over his home here hurt. But as much as I wanted to be bitter about that fact, I understood it. I often chose camp over the mortal world. It was familiar, it was safe.
