Rengoku (angst)

I felt sturdy arms wrap around me gently and the vibrations of the Flame Hashira's chest rumbling, his chin resting on my neck. I looked back at him, our noses rubbing together lovingly. I reached for the back of his head, feeling the sunset colored locks of hair run through my fingers, pulling him closer to my lips as I pecked him lightly. My husband's golden eyes were filled with adoration and worry.

Nuzzling our cheeks together I murmured softly "Everything okay, Kyo?"

He murmured back, our cheeks still touching "I should be asking you that question, sunshine."

I gave a questioning hum and pulled back, still in his embrace.

"I'm just a little tired, darling." His tone was hushed and gentle.

I slightly faltered at his tone "You sure?"

His grip on my tightened "I.....It's really nothing."

Ok, now I knew something was really wrong. My Kyojuro rarely faltered "I know something is wrong, Kyo. I'm here for you, you know. You can tell me anything you want..." My voice trailed off as his breath hitched ever so subtly but my observant eyes caught it.

I turned around facing him. His teeth were clenching trying to stop the whimpers and tears streaming down his cheeks. I pulled him closer, weaving my hands through is firy locks "Oh Kyo, oh my beautiful husband. Shhh.....Let it all out, you've been keeping it in for far too long."

He couldn't hold it back anymore. Sobs wracked his body and he let out a few hiccups.

"I...just can't deal with it anymore!"

"I can't...." His voice sounded so helplessly broken.

"Senjuro has to go through what I did. So much relentless expectations from our father...."

This made my lips quiver, Kyojuro always knew how to comfort me but he always forgot about himself.

I snapped out of it and stood tall. I am the wife of the Flame Pillar, I need to be there when he slants. So I turned around full and grabbed his cheeks firmly yet gently with my palms. Gazing eye to eye, foreheads locked together "Let it all out, once you let it all out you can stand strong with as the flame pillar."

Immediately my blazing boy started to weep into my arms while I stroked his hair murmuring "It's okay Kyo."

He nuzzled into his chest, shutting his eyes, my arms embracing him all the while.

I whispered "I love you so much."

I didn't even have to look down to know that he had a soft smile set on his lips, trembling through his sobs, "Me too."

I continued, pressing a gentle kiss on my hair "Just don't hide things like this from me, I love you too much to see you suffer so horribly."

He hugged me tighter as his vision began to grow blurry "Oh god, how did I end up with someone as gorgeous as you?"

I shoved him playfully "Oh shut up, your one to talk!"

His chest rumbled with laughter as he nuzzled closer to me "I really do love you, my sunshine."

"Love you too, you big lovable idiot."

I do really have to start writing more. I have so many unfinished fanfics that I bet you guys are waiting for the next update for. I've been pretty busy, I'm so sorry I keep forgetting to write. Sorry if this was really rushed-
