Howdy! I'm SquishyWizard, and this is my first ever fanfiction!
Well, maybe that's not entirely true. I've worked on Star Wars fanfics years ago (one of them I never even finished), but I haven't actually put time and effort into one before.
That is, until Broken Hearts.
I got into Genshin Impact back in February, and ever since then I've been captivated by its beautiful world, amazing characters, and incredible soundtrack.
Genshin's story tends to get a bad rap in some corners of the fanbase, but its story is what hooked me into the game in the first place.
miHoYo has done a fantastic job in building the world of Teyvat so far, and some chapters (specifically Venti's story quest and We Will Be Reunited) have been some of the most impactful pieces of storytelling I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
So, in this fanfiction, you'll read my (hopefully adequate) attempt at expanding the story that, while relatively smaller in scale, will emphasize the importance of the Traveler and their sibling.
Before we open the doors to Teyvat once more, I'd like to give you some brief bullet points of what you will expect to see in this fanfiction.
* Takes place one month after We Will Be Reunited and a week after No Mere Stone
* Told in third person, and is from Aether (the protagonist)'s perspective, though there will be moments where Lumine (the Abyss Princess) will be the central character
* A darker and more mature story than the game's thus far
* Some side characters will play a much larger role
* Serves as a story that will add more character development to the two siblings, but will not have any long-term effects on future Genshin storylines
* Will tackle themes like depression, guilt, loneliness, desperation, and faith
* CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR MOST OF GENSHIN'S STORY
