The trio arrived at Cape Oath by dusk. It took unusually long, but they were all glad to have arrived.

"So," Xiao uttered quietly, "This is Mondstadt."

"Yep! Sure is!" Paimon responded, "Isn't it beautiful?"

The wind that blew past the cliff and rustled the trees gave the exhilarating feeling that Aether missed so much. For Xiao, it was more serene than anything.

"This air..." Xiao remarked, "...It's much more crisp than Liyue's."

"Is that so, weatherman?" asked Aether jokingly.

"I was born with an Anemo Vision, Traveler. Wind has practically flown through my veins for thousands of years. I'm most certainly entitled to my opinion."

"I'll take your word for it, then."

"Hey, Paimon thinks it's time to go into the teapot before we get ambushed!"

"Already? Shame," said Xiao, "I would love to stay out here for a couple more hours."

"Aww, come on! Paimon thinks you'll love our little teapot!"

"Very well. Just so you know, I'll be up before you two in the morning. This scenery is far too magnificent to take in for a few minutes."

"Geez, Paimon didn't know Xiao could be so deep," Paimon whispered to Aether.

———

As soon as the trio were transported into the Serenitea Pot, a large, finch-like creature with the body of a teacup greeted them merrily.

"I am glad to see you again, Mr. Traveler and Paimon!"

"Feeling's mutual, Tubby!" Aether replied with the same sense of joyousness.

Tubby then looked at Xiao, and her beak quivered with fear.

"U-uh, who might you be?" she asked, scared out of her wits.

"I am Xiao, last of the Yakshas and the Conqueror of Demons. No need to be afraid, I only harm those who pose threats to the mortal world. An adeptal creation such as yourself is free from my wrath."

Tubby let a substantial sigh of relief.

"T-thank goodness," she stuttered, "I thought I was a goner for sure. W-welcome, visitor!"

Xiao courteously nodded.

Aether noticed the moon slowly rising. Time in the teapot flowed exactly like the mortal world's.

"Hey, how about we make a fireplace for the night?" Aether suggested, "We can tell each other stories of our adventures!"

"Sounds good to me," said Xiao, "But we better not sit here all night. Talking too much will kill me."

"Xiao...you're immortal..."

As night fell, Aether and Paimon began to cook over a campfire made from spare pine wood. The result of their labor was some delectable Chicken-Mushroom Skewers, which they shared with their adeptus companion. They all recounted stories as they fed themselves.

"Hey Traveler," Paimon said, still munching on her fifth skewer, "Remember the time we first fought that Ruin Guard at the Thousand Winds Temple?"
