Kisses on the Beach

AN: I will say that I took the proposal speech from a website, however I have edited it to make it seem appropriate. I did this because I didn't really have much inspiration for this part and was suffering from writers block. I hope you understand. Also thank you so much for 1.7k reads. xx

Alfie's POV:

I lead Zoe down to the beach and after finishing our ice creams, I stood up.

"Where are you going Alf?" Zoe asked. I closed my eyes

"Nowhere, just listen, l have something to say. I can look into your eyes and I can easily see myself reflected back. That doesn’t mean much to some people, but to me it’s everything. It means I see myself in you; a part of you that I don’t ever want to let go of. I lose my breath; my voice is whisked away just by the essence of every word that brushes past your lips. It’s overwhelming and it belongs to you.

Every year when Valentine’s Day comes around, and our anniversary, I know I have to be better than the last year. I’m so worried the present won’t live up to the previous year. But when I stress, that’s when you put on that ever-so-charming smile, look right at me and say, with the softest voice, “Listen Gorgeous, gifts only excite our feelings of joy; barely scratching the surface. But what matters is so much deeper. Our hearts beat the same rhythm on the same time scale along with the feelings. And for that I love you.”

And when it’s my birthday we stay inside for a very romantic dinner, surrounded by our closest friends. But when they go home and it’s just us, you bring out your present. I want to freeze this moment and just live in it forever.

But as you’re sitting right here, right now, on Brighton beach, as we finish our ice creams with windswept hair, I’m pouring out my feelings to you.

Every pair of star-crossed lovers always finds their destined partner in time. Always. The stars are now tangled in web of love, passion, and friendship." I said as I got down on one knee, opened my eyes and said, with tears rolling down my cheeks, "Will you marry me?"

I looked up to see Zoe in tears, and surrounding strangers applauding and smiling at us.

"YES!" Zoe said through her tears. I reached down to take her shaking hand and placed the ring on her finger. Then I hugged her, holding her in a strong embrace, gently kissing her neck.

"I love you, Little Ones" I whispered into her ear.

"I love you too" She chuckled.
