It took three months. Three months and a lot of catching up for Zayn to drop down to his knee and for Liam to cry out a yes.

They made love for the second time that night, and although Zayn was skeptical, they actually went all the way.

They were planning their wedding by the next month, and when Harry finally got news of the engagement, he started planning his own.

It was the middle of Fall, Liam's favorite season, and the two were huddled in separate rooms. they were both dressed in suits, their hearts pounding and their palms sweating.

"Calm down already, you prick," Louis and Wesley were with Liam, and Louis just couldn't grasp why Liam would be nervous. "You guys are in love, this is going to go wonderfully," he took it down to a whisper, and Wesley nodded, the both of them making their ways over to rub his heaving back.

Zayn was only five doors down, staring at the mirror and squishing his face between his hands.

"What are you doing, exactly?" Niall and Harry were in with him, Niall final speaking while handing him his tie.

"Liam doesn't like ties, Ni. Im going plain." Zayn sighed, turning toward the both of his friends. "Why the hell do I deserve him?" He asked, quietly.

But what he meant to be a serious question only sent Harry and Niall doubling over in laughs.

"You're made for each other, dumbass" Harry laughed. He fixed his collar one more time before smiling, "absolutely made for each other. Now come on."

They were all in position, then, Zayn with both Harry and Niall as the best men, since he had no one else, and Louis standing toward to other side, Liam's best man.

Harry stared at Louis, taking in the sight of his boyfriend in a tux... something that had never happened before. Louis caught his eyes and smirked, winking and thrusting in the slightest.

The music began and all eyes fell in the door, where Liam and Wesley appeared. Sadly, there was no parent to walk Liam down the aisle, and although Liam loved Zayn's parents, Wesley was the right one to do this.

Making it up to the front, Wesley took her stance as the awkward bridesmaid, letting Niall size her up in the light pink dress, but focusing completely in the happiness in front if her.

"Liam Payne, you make me so happy. I feel like I've known you forever, yet I've missed you so long. You open up the beauties of the world to me, including you, my darling. You're all I could have ever dreamed of, and I love you," Zayn whispered, keeping it short.

Liam had his own vows planned out, but he had sworn he shouldn't of let Zayn go first because he lost all the words in tears.

"I love you, Zayn," he managed to cry out, and the two kissed in the sweet bliss of marriage.

The light crowd cheered, the seats full of distant family and family friends who have met the newly weds once in their lives, but that's alright, because Liam dreamed of a big wedding, and e got a beautiful one.

And not only a beautiful wedding, but a beautiful night, because they were now Mr. Malik and Mr. Malik, and they needed to test out those new names in a city hotel suite bed.

Then two years passed, Louis and Harry were now happily engaged, (Wesley and Niall were getting there), and Liam finally found the time and money to start and complete school to be an art major. He found a job in photography, and Zayn found a bunch of auditions, so within the first year the two had fulfilled Zayn's Dream and moved right smack dab in the middle of that Chicago skyline.

It was a Friday, and Liam came home from work, holding a folder. When he came inside, Zayn was on the floor, huddled over a script with his hands in his hair.

"Liam!" Zayn called, propping himself up to his feet and running over to his husband, plopping a gigantic kiss on his lips. "I've missed you."

Liam laughed, kissing back, "how did the audition go?" He smiled, throwing the folder onto the counter and taking off his coat.

"I got it just like that. Walked into the room and they knew I suppose. This one is huge, baby, its an actual production," Zayn smiled, and Liam cooed.

"Im so proud of you, love,"

And that night, during their intimate little sit down dinner, Liam pulled out the folder.

"I know we haven't talked about it much, but I think it's time that we try?" He smiled weakly, handing his husband the folder and watching him open it.

"Adoption papers?" Zayn smiled wide, looking back toward Liam, "really?" Zayn asked, and Liam nodded happily.

It took six months, and the couple finally had a use for one of their spare rooms. It was a little girl, and Zayn insisted on calling her Carmen.

A few more years passed, Harry and Louis were newly married, and Wesley and Niall were newly engaged, when Zayn pulled out the same folder.

By the time Carmen was five, two more kids were running around the house. Lola and Trey were one year old twins and they only completed the beautiful Malik family.

"They're so perfect. We're so perfect," Liam whispered, sat on the couch with the, now three year old, twins in his lap and his head in Zayn's chest. Six year old Carmen was cuddled into Zayn's side.

"I love you, Liam."

"I love you, too, Zayn."
